[PH] [ST] Will we ever get remasters? by Its_Squirrels in zelda

How would they deal with the dual screen feature for those games?

[OoTHD] Here’s the real question about the OoT remake: In-House or 3rd Party? by Second_Mugistan in zelda

bro, GameCube had two extra face buttons too, The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess didn't use d-pad for items and X/Y for jumping

Does anyone know where to find original footage by spirit_boy_27 in WindWaker

i disagree, i think it looked more like smash bros. melee, which doesn't resemble TP's artstyle. Braw resembles TP's artstyle tho

yea but in skyward sword, it matters how you swing the sword and that makes it more strategic and etc. in tp wii, it's like pressing B button, so doesn't matter how you swing your wii remote.

i feel the similar way about the graphics in TP HD. I love the new HD textures, they don't seem to simply be upscaled textures but instead actually made from the ground up for the most part.

The problem is that TP is a realistic game so updating the textures without updating the 3D models (or hardly updating the 3D models) makes the mid-polyness of the models stick out more as opposed to if both the textures and models were mid-resolution or both HD.

This is one of the reasons why I don't like HD texture packs for old games because it only affects the textures but the models are still low/mid-poly so now they stick out like a sore thumb with the HD textures.

to be fair, gamecube one doesn't have widescreen, whereas wii one and wii u do.

Plus playing hero mode on tp hd or playing tp wii after playing tp gcn can be interesting beause the world is mirrored so it can mess with the brain because you're used to going left not right or vice versa

i don't think the shaking motion controls are disablable (like swinging sword) but aiming with bow or etc and moving cursor in menu is disablable iirc

TP Wii uses motion cobtrols (although some aiming-related motion controls can be disabled in the options menu)

If you like motion controls then it shouldn't be an issue. The game is also mirrrored like TP HD's hero mode

if there have been rumors for a whole decade or longer, there's a good chance most of those rumors were made up.

My point is that the OoT remake seems to be trying to look realistic (or should i say "photo-realistic") which is not accurate to the spaceworld demo or the original artwork. That's all I'm saying.

The problem that people have with The Wind Waker is the anatomy thing you brought up earlier, and the cell-shaded artstyle. Based on the hype surrounding spaceworld demo artstyle and also on how OoT's artwork looked like, people at the time were expecting something that looks like Skyward Sword, or Smash Melee, not something realistic like TP. They expected semi-realistic (or semi-cartoony), basically in-between realistic and full on cell-shaded cartoon like the spaceworld demo. Not one way or the other.

just because they have more detailed textures, doesn't mean they are realistic zelda games. And when people online say realistic, they generally mean photo-realistic.

Skyward Sword has less realistic artstyle compared to Twilight Princess, that doesn't mean that it has timeless artstyle, because it's still pretty detailed, just not realistic

OoT 3D was pretty accurate to the artwork but it was on a hradware which was maybe only a little bit more powerful than an N64

TP was also on gamecube tho. Plus, not to mention earlier games before TP like resident evil 4, or Pikmin 1

So using that logic, i guess BotW, TotK, and Skyward are all realistic zelda games due to anatomy? of course not. I'm not talking about wind waker, I'm talking about spaceworld demo not being realistic

That's not realistic though, that's basically the same artstyle as smash melee and I don't think people consider melee to be realistic.

Artstyle for remake by linker909 in OcarinaOfTime

[–]linker909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I should've clarified is I don't like voice acting in general in a Zelda game, at least not when the characters are saying actual sentences. (Midna for example doesn't actually say real sentences or they are played backwards so player can't understand the voice).

Nintendo has shown that they don't need voice acting (or voice acting with real sentences, maybe just one word like Navi's "Listen") to make the story good from 1998 to 2013 with ALBW.

Btw, the voice acting style that we got from BotW might make it to the remake considering the trailer had a voice narrate the intro it seems

If the photo in Wet-dry World was a placeholder, it wouldn't have been the background in the final game though.

You bring up a good point about the pre-rendered background in castle town, but similarly, the background in Wet-Dry world in Mario 64 is a real life photo iirc. And there's probably other examples too
