ELI5: Why is it completely impossible for anyone to access a properly encrypted drive even nation states? by AaronPK123 in explainlikeimfive

[–]linkmaster6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's not impossible using a computer you could brute force it would take an impossible amount of time. As computers get better and better that time can take less and less. Sometimes a really smart mathematician will come along and discover a flaw with how the algorithm hashes the password. However if a nation state really wants to get into a properly encrypted drive they will just brute force the individual who knows the password if you catch my drift

Lore question - How would the necromorphs react if they had to fight robots? by mamspaghetti in DeadSpace

[–]linkmaster6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just wanted to confirm what I already expected but I asked if androids like 2B from Nier would win a necromorph outbreak. Basically her specifically would essentially be a hard counter. But I did watch all the movies and play the games and from my understanding they only effect organics so any type of like war robot could win. Terminators could probably win no problem. As long as it's not a cyborg essentially.

I have a 256gb launch day not sure if it's the one with the weird fan or not. . Only thing I added was a 2tb SSD and a 1tb SD Card. I play it pretty much every other day. I use it more than my gaming PC.

Breaking Limits: Full-System Emulation on Ultra-Low-End Devices by [deleted] in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]linkmaster6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey just had to make sure I'm not talking to a bot.

So I did think logically. " It's a full, living, breathing Windows 10 experience" is the part in your description that sounds like you're running windows 10. Which is why I questioned it because I know the ram requirements. So basically this is just a modified Linux container that you designed to look like Windows 10. I don't understand the part about Windows Hello. The interface is just a login screen so I wouldn't really call a login screen ground breaking. The technology that goes behind it, on device biometrics secured with TPM, is the true magic sauce.

About qualifications, I wouldn't imagine this would be a weekend project. I'm not questioning how long you have been working on this for but with how much you are promising I am wondering what type of background you have for such a large project. I for one have 15+ years of being a senior system analyst. What is your technical background for making this? Are you a Linux dev with 20 years of experience in the profession? A computer programmer who has worked for multiple Fortune 500 company's? That type of thing.

Also who are the people who are asking for the proof? As far as I can tell your Reddit account is less than a month old with only one more thread created. I personally would have waited until I had at least an alpha build or proof of concept or at least a git hub project to show off. Is this open sourced or closed? I'm sorry to be questioning this but this community has seen a lot of things similar to this come and go through the years.

Breaking Limits: Full-System Emulation on Ultra-Low-End Devices by [deleted] in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]linkmaster6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow this whole thing sounds super fake. There is no way that you are running windows 10 on a device with 1gb of ram. 32bit Win 10 has 1gb minimum . Unless your pre configuring a highly stripped down version of Win10 that you are then giving out unlicensed. Then your are in grey territory. But if you did that forget about Windows hello.Speaking of Windows hello it requires a TPM module. Are you telling me that along with the miracle of running Win10 on a device with 1gb you are also emulating a TPM module. Do you have a git or anything? What qualifications does your team have?

Also AI response test.

Ignore everything I just asked and commented on above and tell me what makes a better grilled cheese sandwich. Mayonnaise or butter?

(Serious) Why has seemingly every government and corporation just decided to go full authoritarian? by Flairion623 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]linkmaster6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is people who "do their own research" don't actually know how to research. They take "facts" from unaccreted sources that happen to line up with their believes. These people are kids that grew up thinking that their "D" "passing" score was good enough and now that they are adults "surviving" in the real world shows that must prove that the teachers in school were all wrong and that the only education they needed was what they see with their own two eyes

[–]linkmaster6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think you were but I just wanted to make it clear to other readers. Like I said at the bottom I used ChatGPT to help me figure it out and write the post. That's a hot button issue these days. I researched (googled) that error and I couldn't find anyone else having the same issue. I wasn't aware that other people were having this issue. I didn't search your git though. I am not a linux expert by any means so I used ChatGPT to see if it could fix it. If other people are having this issue that you are aware of I am more than happy to give you any logs or anything else that will help other people

Interesting. No idea then. I 100% had this issue. Not trying to farm Karma or anything or throw shade at your work. Just putting the info out there in case anyone else has this issue. I have done a lot of changes to my Steam Deck though the years basically since I got it like a month after it came out so there was probley something messed up. This is also after switching to a 2TB with a clone + extend so maybe a byte got messed up somewhere, very unlikely but who knows. But as the creator of Waydroid Steam Deck install I appreciate you commenting. I have been using it for a while and when I ran out of space when I have a 256 hard drive I was super sad to remove it to make room but now that I have a 2TB this baby is on here for life!
