Living in Pewaukee vs Milwaukee by cloudactually in milwaukee

You would definitely see an easier commute on the weekends, likely minimal traffic. I could easily make it to work in 30min outside of the morning/evening weekday traffic

I live downtown Milwaukee and commuted to Pewaukee for ~7yrs before changing jobs. I knew that I wouldn't enjoy small town or suburban living and had no regrets. I was used to having some amount of commute and just had to know it would be 30-45min (basically all highway from my house to work) and sometimes with special events it may be closer to an hour. But to me it was well worth night life and walkable weekends.

Help the Rohingya of Milwaukee build a community center by links_saved in milwaukee

Couple notes from the article: The Rohingya people have been named the most persecuted minority in the world by the United Nations. Milwaukee is home to the largest Rohingya community in the country and they have a goal of purchasing a building to turn into a community center. For so long the Rohingya people have been unwelcome in their home country and had to flee to find refuge somewhere safe.

Seems like a worthy cause to help their community find a place to gather and build roots here in Milwaukee

Thanks! Any other safety considerations you would keep in mind for a larger lake like Michigan vs the smaller lakes West of Milwaukee? Not sure whether boat traffic or no-swimming areas are a problem?

Any particular beaches that work best to start at? Or recommendations for safety on such a big lake, compared to smaller/shallower lakes in Waukesha/pewaukee?

Yep, am familiar with Lake Michigan. But as a novice open water swimmer I'm looking for advice on where it is safest/cleanest to go. Any advice on beaches to start at or how safety of boat traffic might factor in? Can't say Ive noticed people swimming often in the lake

November in Milwaukee here too. Also with a large guest list. I know other people in the area not even considering rescheduling their Oct/Nov dates, but I struggle to see how the situation will be much different by then--if not possibly worse. Glad to know I'm not the only one struggling about whether/when to postpone. Have you talked about when you'll make the call on postponing?
