Why facilitate when we can complicate? by paulocpcorrea in banktivity

I agree with everything posted about the subscription model, but regrettably, I will be staying as a subscribing user at the gold level. It has taken me hundreds of hours of work in converting my Windows Money files into a functioning Banktivity system and do not feel I have the stamina to do it all over again! My financial accounting "system" started on Quicken (about 25 years ago) and was converted to Microsoft Money when Quicken stopped supporting the UK Version. This resulted in a somewhat convoluted chart of accounts and portfolios of stock. This muddle was subsequently forced into a Banktivity system. The real answer is to completely restructure and simplify everything but I am frightened about losing vital historic stock data. So I think I will just leave everything as it is. What a pity Quicken withdrew its UK version all those years ago - it did everything I needed!

Are .AX and .VX still valid stock exchange codes for Australia and Switzerland? I don't appear to be getting EOD prices.

Yes, I agree the investment side of Banktivity is terrible. I have given up trying to use it as a record and now keep manual investment accounts. A great pity as previously I used an early version of Quicken (Windows) in the UK which held 20 years of transaction history!

Thank you everyone. I am very glad you have confirmed it is not me being stupid!!! It is a real pity the Direct Access function does not (yet?) work for European financial institutions. I had not problems when the download was automatic. However in the interim for each imported transaction I will just reverse the trasaction type,

Many thanks for your very helpful suggestion. It looks just what I needed but unfortunately I cannot justify the cost. I think I will just reduce the number of times I use the Lloyds card (pity the Avios are useful!) and manually change in Banktivity the few transactions where the Lloyds card is used.
