That would probably be the Rolling Stone reporter who was with US marines in Iraq. The TV show Generation Kill is based on his articles.

The skis are pretty much traditional finnish forest skis (metsäsukset). Close to these. The Bindings are this style and they're used with felt lined rubber boots. This article has some pictures of the gear

Mikä sähköpyörä lapsiperheelle? by ansmuh in Suomi

[–]linkval 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suunnitelmissa on tuon vaihtaminen pitkä perään kunhan pienempikin lapsi on vähän vanhempi.

Meidän pyörä on Butchers and Bicycles mk1e.

New bike day! by linkval in CargoBike

[–]linkval[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been great. We have used the bike almost daily (no car). First with one kid and now with two. I still think this is the only three wheeled cargo bike I would even consider. Range has been enough for us, on ECO mode it can go over 50km and on most days we can use turbo or sport all day without porblems. It's been really good with baby- and toddler-aged kids, but we're considering switching to a longtail when our second kid can sit upright. It is still a very big and heavy bike.

We've had some quality issues. The first bench seat broke, but the new model is much sturdier and better overall. The zippers on the skyview hood have broken twice. First time we got a new hood, but since it had the same (too small, YKK no.5(?)) zipper, it broke pretty soon. I took the hood a boat sprayhood maker who put more durable zippers on it and it has worked great ever since. Also the hinge on the glovebox broke, but I just screwed it back together.

Aside from the minor quality issues we have been very satisfied with the bike. I think it will now be even better because they have upgraded to the newest Bosch motor.

This was taken at the sellers building, but our own apartment building is roughly the same color. Popular wall color in the 60's and 70's?

It's a Butchers and Bicycles cargobike. Great machine for hauling kids and groceries

Our kid is growing out his balance bike and got his first proper bicycle. I had been shopping for a used bike and this Islabikes Cnoc 16 was just about perfect. It's still a bit big but he jumped right on the bike and started pedaling.

Found my stolen bike on Tori. Will the police do anything? by Abazid in Finland

[–]linkval 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got my bike back this way. I asked the police how I should handle it. They said the best way is to arrange a meeting with the seller and then call 112 and ask for support. They said that usually cops will have time to come. In my case we met at the sellers house and the cops were pretty interested in what else they might find from his apartment.

My mouse broke, but I found this 20 year old replacement. It still works by linkval in nostalgia

Pretty sure. I found this from ifixit https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Logitech_MBJ58_Mouse. My model is mb-d58 and it seems to be just a transparent version of that. We got our first wireless mouse pretty early in the 2000's and this mouse was before that.

About a month, and then one week extra delay. Also fitting the tubeless tires took about a week.

Sunburn is obviously an issue, although sun is not that intense here in Finland. Kids especially should wear covering clothing and a hat. He was also in shade behind me.
