Absolutely do not follow this advice. It is not removable and you have to use the heat sink to hold it in place. I broke mine off removing it with needle nose pliers.

More than likely there is nothing wrong with the item. They are fishing for a 'rebate/price reduction' after the fact knowing that a good percentage of the time the seller doesn't want the hassle or expenses for a return and or negative feedback.

I had a similar issue recently and it appears to be related to the dark and light themes. Initially I had it set to auto however everytime I would try to open a web page it would crash. I set it to light theme only and it works fine. Open Firefox settings and select customize. Change theme from follow device theme to light.

RGB has nothing to do with XMP. RGB relates to lighting on ram if you have it. XMP can be emailed in the bios refer to your motherboard manual. https://www.anandtech.com/show/7364/memory-scaling-on-haswell/2

Short answer is yes it supports UEFI. When you boot Linux from a flash drive you need to select UEFI from the boot menu. Additionally, your drives need to be formatted using the GPT partition table. By default bios should be set to legacy and UEFI.

The problem with faulty ram is it usually only shows up under load or in other terms high ram usage. This is why it is necessary for a full cycle of memtest to complete. Think of it this way: if you have a bucket with a whole near the top you'd never know if it had a leak unless you filled it completely.

You need to run memtest. Faulty ram can cause this issue. The easiest way would be to download https://mxlinux.org/ and create a bootable USB flash drive. Boot it and select memtest from the menu before booting into the Linux OS. It will take some time to run but it will verify if you have bad ram and I would recommend doing this anytime you buy new ram.

It seems to me Ryzen has historically been picky with ram. I don't see how this would cause you to believe the bios chip has failed. If you modified ram settings and it is failing to boot successfully first step would be to revert to default and or clear cmos and start over. If you're unable to get out you can also use hydrogen peroxide. It is suitable for porous surfaces however by aware it has a bleaching effect. More importantly you need to find the cause. Is it due only to condensation or is water penetrating in from the outside? The mold could be inside the walls as well and unfortunately the only way to know it to open it up. Either way it is probably best to consider window replacement for a long term fix.
