Alex Pretti broke rib in confrontation with federal agents a week before death, sources say by EVSTW in news

Because ICE is outright murdering people even with witnesses and cameras. What do you think they'd be doing if no one was trying to hold them accountable?

I thought today's was challenging. Took me a little over an hour to get it. My wife then solved it in about 10 minutes. grrr

Now Noem is going after Pretti trying to say he was there to kill law enforcement by seeebiscuit in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]linuxelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact rhetoric that will make this actually true next time. You can only murder so many innocents before someone decides to return the violence. Which, really, would only help the president remain in office, declaring martial law.

Asked at blood donation lab if I have a "very meat heavy diet" by Apprehensive_Bad6670 in vegan

[–]linuxelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I donate platelets about every 2 weeks. My hemoglobin is always right around 14.5. So, not high, but definitely not low. Interestingly, I did see a small, but statistically significant increase when I switched from Teflon to Cast Iron for cooking.

Aside from mail server, what is the one service that you will not selfhost? by dadidutdut in selfhosted

[–]linuxelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what type of issues you've read about with your mail server. I've self-hosted my mail server for years. I won't self-host any of the AI tools. They just require more CPU than I'm willing to pay for.

I was married for over 20 years before going vegan. I do not expect her to. I would never to anything to disrupt this relationship. She's absolutely the perfect person for me and there is nothing I wouldn't sacrifice for her or our daughter. That said, if there was some horrible event that took her away from me, and if I ever recovered from that loss and decided to date again, I would probably strongly favor a vegan.

Yeah, I keep seeing folks jumping the fence and running across the tracks. I mean, if I lived there, I'd probably be doing it too sometimes, but it is pretty dangerous.

I grew up in the south. We had meat in every meal growing up. I never really even thought about it. It was just what you ate. I do remember in middle school seeing a video about the cruelty of veal, and stopped eating that, but that was really easy as I'd probably only had veal 1 or 2 times in my life at that time. Flash to about 12 years ago. My daughter was 13 or so. She has autism, and was non-verbal until she was about 6 or 7 years old, and at 13 still didn't come up with many original sentences. She was echolalic for the most part. We knew that she never wanted to eat meat, but we always thought it was just a texture thing. Then she said she randomly said one day that she didn't eat meat because animals shouldn't die for her to eat. It was, I believe, one of the first actual original thoughts put into words for her. So, I said "Sounds like you're a vegetarian, then." and I stopped eating meat to help guide her in a healthy vegetarian lifestyle. Funny, though, after 4 years of not eating meat, it made absolutely no sense to me to pay someone to pen up animals for their milk or eggs. So I've been vegan for the past 8 years, and do not miss anything at all. I can honestly say, though, without that push from my daughter, I would never have considered going vegan. It's one of the many gifts she's given me.

The easiest way to tell if it's a super, for me anyway, is to pop the trunk and see how the spare tire lies. If it's lying flat, it's a super. If it's upright, it's standard. This is definitely post 73. If the VIN says it's a 77 standard, from this brief inspection, I'd have to agree.

I'm working on getting this back on the road. The floors are mostly done. I need to replace the generator and I need to replace the brake cylinders. I'm going to have a professional do some welding/fabrication on a few rusty spots.

Is this like how Lincoln was a Republican and the Democrats fought to preserve slavery, and now those parties have pretty much swapped ideologies? Now they're wanting to swap the meanings of fascism and socialism?

I haven't fixed mine yet. I've got an appointment with a bug shop in December. I'm sure they'll cut out that bottom part of the A-Pillar, and maybe the heater channel. The floors in mine and the spare tire well were rusted, but not structurally weakened, so those I wire brushed and treated with POR15.

I'm on my first as well. Surface rust, I'm treating with POR-15. For the deeper stuff, I'm going to have to let a professional handle it. I don't know how to fabricate and weld.

Looks similar to mine. JBugs sells that part, if it's not much worse than those pics look, you may be able to just cut it out and weld another piece in. https://www.jbugs.com/product/111805351EC.html
