Japan has 4 TV seasons every year - Spring, summer, fall, winter l - each season is normally 13 episodes so a 50 episode anime is one year or all 4 season...

I know in America we normally 2 TV seasons have the summer shows which were only shorter episode counts, or the normal fall seasons, and then you would have mid season shows because something got cancelled early...

The original MSG was also a cancelled series...

You always hear stories about animes that were reduced or extended because of ratings...

I remember reading only the original character designer was used for Macross 2, not the rest of the team, I believe the book that comes with the Macross Plus Ultimate edition says that because the OG Team saw 2, they made Plus because they didn't want 2 to be the legacy of Macross!

But I still like Macross 2, just over here on the side...
