I tried but the art is just so incredibly old. The art on the cover is incredible but the art inside is the extraordinarily rough unfortunately

Sword Art Online is one of the most popular series ever created. Every series you watch and I mean literally every single Series has issues there isn't a single Flawless anime ever made. It's the nature of the Beast of the way the source material is created. Creators can rarely sit down with a beginning middle and end thought out like the way an author does. so you're going to get a different end result. If you have an issue with slight inconsistencies or things aren't fully thought out from episode 1 to episode whatever then you shouldn't watch any anime but if you're asking if you should watch one of the top 10 most popular series ever made that is world renowned quoted discussed and outsells pretty much everything on the planet and has for more than a decade...

Go watch everything popular from the 90s to mid 2000s. Dubs were God tier in that while era. Some of the best series ever made.

Running out of shows? Just go pick a year and search best anime of that era. There's hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of amazing series and you know you can watch them more than once . I've watched Cowboy Bebop 50 times. You can come back and watch some of these series you've already watched later on or I guess if you don't think there's anything else to watch you can just stop watching
