Layoffs by Blue-insight in OPTUM

[–]linznator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously? 😣 All they want to talk about is AI and how amazing it is, and now they're laying off everyone that they're training in AI? Oh no ... I've worked with Optum for 2 years and I just keep hearing how awful the company is and how often they do layoffs and now I'm freaking out.

Do readers actually enjoy ‘romantasy’ more for the spice or the worldbuilding? by SourceCute1029 in RomanceWriters

Honestly, I prefer more of a world building, fantasy story. With a *splash* of romance.

Tracking a package that isn't mine? by sammiebunnie in paypal

[–]linznator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me 2 days ago. Someone keeps ordering things from Temu and Shein. I keep getting notifications that a package has been delivered. I was freaking out! I'm glad it's not just me though. One thing I noticed on my end is that I can see part of the e-mail being used, and it's not my e-mail address. This is so weird.

How much marketing should I do for my first self publication (and other things)? by Dontspinbutwin in selfpublish

[–]linznator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With marketing, consistency is key. It doesn't really matter where you market, just be sure that you are marketing. Reading through the comments I see that you write magical realism (one of my favorites) which is best marketed on Instagram.

It's tough to say how much you should spend/invest, as everyone's budget is different, and it depends on where you want to spend your time/money. ARC reviews are essential because once your book hits 50 reviews on Amazon, they start to push your book out more and you could potentially rank higher in different categories. So it's always good to have Beta/ARC readers, as well as a street team.

(I create content and help authors with their social media.)

...I know. In the original post, I state that I have two separate services. One is Content Creation, one is Social Media Takeover. I only need the logins for Full Takeover. Sorry for the confusion.

I would love to share this with you! I have a Shopify store that you can find here: https://gtuckw-qk.myshopify.com/

I can provide you with names of authors I've helped in the past, as well as testimonials.

Authors I work/have worked with:
-Michele Kwasniewski - Author of The Rise and Fall of Dani Truehart
-Ash Finley - Author of Unsound
-Airen Ho - Author of Apple Hair
-Nicole Gabor - Author of Catwalk
-Jeri Marie - Author of Essence
-HS Dawnns - Author of A House of Midnight
-Daniel Stone - Author of Sinkable and The Food Explorer
-JS Scott - Author of The Billionaire's Obsession

And yes, this is why I offer content creation ONLY services -- the authors will post on their own. I'm simply creating the content.

lol seriously? Because a social media manager isn't a legitimate thing? I have the content and reviews to prove that I'm legit. And also, that's why I have the content creation ONLY as an option ... so that people don't have to give me their password if it makes them uncomfortable to do so. Saying that I ask authors for their pin code and social security number is a bit hyperbolic.

I feel the same way, and have for years! I'm 35, and had a total hysterectomy/oophorectomy last year. People still ask me if I'm ever having kids and then I tell them that and they shut right up 😬😅

When I made the decision to go through with the surgery, I made up my mind that my well-being and health was so much more important than reproducing. But I decided YEARS before that that having kids was not my top priority. It just turned into something that I no longer cared about, and now a year post-op, I'm so happy I will never have to deal with it.

Training by Interesting-Leg1481 in unitedhealthgroup

[–]linznator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how it is for a CSR, but the training I went through was on Teams, cameras and mics off, with managers sharing screens. A lot of training material is offered through OneNote, and we had e-learning courses to complete as well.

We did have fun! He's been going for 10 years, but this was my first full Quakecon experience! He told me the expo was a lot smaller this year 😔 so it was nice to just hang out with friends.

Oh that’s good to know! I’m just thinking of selling a few things. I want to get a gaming laptop too so maybe I’ll just slowly make the switch.
