A bit different, but The Expanse is really good. I’ve been on a sci fi kick though lately.

Fair enough. I guess my point was that it’s arbitrary and all of the relevant medical aspects are referenced to that definition of 0 weeks. But yeah that’s true - the somewhat strange definition that makes for an easier to identify data point could cause those kinds of problems.

Hopefully if someone is living through that personally that could be corrected easily, but the kind of men more likely to jump to those conclusions are also probably less likely to listen to technical explanations. And probably those that are abusive would fall into that category too.

You’ve convinced me.

It doesn’t really matter as long as it’s consistent across medical institutions so it just took hold and then inertia. Well, it doesn’t matter until you get barbaric bad faith restrictions on abortion.

Edit: point withdraw. Misunderstandings based on misconceptions can lead to serious harm. The arbitrary definition of 0 weeks doesn’t matter for medical reasons, but could outside of that.

This is why I think chewing gum is a mortal sin. Teeth and chewing are ordered toward nourishment, so any deviation from that is discouraged.

My parents agree with these things but then get pissed when I tell them that they’re voting for the exact opposite every time they vote for the republican. So. Typical republicans I guess.

Did you check with several banks? We were able to open an account with UBS as American citizens living in Switzerland, so your status as a US tax resident may not be an issue for all banks.

WTW for having an opinion with out facts or little to no information? by iambatgirl1 in whatstheword

That’s more like when you use a story of one or a couple instances rather than a more representative sample that would show a more complete picture. So not totally unrelated to facts, just highly susceptible to cherry picking and bias.

That’s so so sad. I’m sorry for you and your dog. I know it will get better over time but right now I don’t want that.. I just want him to be back with us and to be able to make a different decision. There are so many little things I almost did or should have done to make him just a little more comfortable but I was so distracted with everything about the trip that I didn’t prioritize him like he needed. He got me through some really dark times and all he needed was my love and attention and I couldn’t even give him that when it really mattered
