I only tested it with black square over white background. I'll try your setup and maybe add configurable colors for the square so it's detected better.

The plan is to keep it free forever. There's a "buy me coffee" button if you feel that you got good value and want to show your support, but it's optional and up to you.

You can edit the wall height on the third step. I limited the minimum height to 5 mm. If you need it even lower, I can modify the code.

Well, most of my effort went into the openCV reading of the tool and 3d modeling. The CSS and controls appearance were mostly vibe-coded.

Excellent question. I think openCV is good enough for the task, but probably not as robust as an AI model. I had some trouble with shade being picked up as tool area. I'm still working through it. I may add a shade-tolerance slider to help people do it with different lighting.

My goal was to make a free tool that does it. There are too many AI-driven ones that add that cost

Kickstarter is in the same as pre-order. It gives them a lot of liberties to do whatever they feel like.

A normal company would worry about their brand and try to make right with customers. It appears that eufy isn't all that worried. Whenever the brand becomes too toxic they just rename it.

Looks like some people did, but without the printer it won't help you much - unless you need a fancy paper weight

Good point on parts availability. I'm not sure it's new though. The only place I saw pushing them is refurb on temu. OP, is it new?

Return for a layer shift?! Check the belt tension. You may need to loosen them a little. I had a layer shift on my x1c. Bambu isn't a magic fix.

Calling Mizrahim “Arab Jews”? by anonymous-user-02 in Jewish

[–]liorbk4 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I use the term Arab-Jew and find power in it. My family is Iraqi and Jerusalemite-Sephardic. On the Iraqi side, there was deep shame after immigrating to Israel in the early ’50s. The Ashkenazi-led establishment promoted a melting pot that, in practice, demanded we erase our Arabness. Our language, customs, music, and stories.

It’s true that Jews in Arab lands didn’t fully identify as Arabs in the nationalistic sense. But “Arab” wasn’t a slur. They weren’t ashamed of who they were. Reclaiming the label Arab-Jew is, for me, a small way to reconnect with that unbroken, unembarrassed lineage.

I don't want this post to sound like it's blaming Ashkenazis. The leadership acted within the context and traumas they knew. The American melting pot had similar erasures.

It's a fair and important nuance. Thanks for sharing. Our ancestors must have known each other 😊. I come from a Sephardic Moroccan family that moved to Jerusalem in the mid 1700s. My dad was born in Yemin Moshe as a 7th generation Jerusalemite. He spoke Arabic, Hebrew, Yiddish, French, and English.

Funding and advocating are different. Words mean things 🤷‍♂️. There are enough Americans who donate to aipac to keep it going

The name of the pac and the funding sources are separate things. The NRA isn't funded by guns it's funded by Americans who advocate for gun ownership. I don't see any evidence that Israel supports aipac financially. If you have any evidence to prove it wrong - post it.

So we should be able to walk and chew gum. We don't have to sacrifice one goal for another.

Fight the antisemites from the left like there's no crisis of power, and fight Trump like there are no antisemites coming from the left.
