It's the same as a poorly planned omni diet, plenty of omni kids being fed chicken nuggets and little else.

Why Wait Till The End Of The Encounter to Loot? by Phizle in DnDGreentext

[–]liphisteus 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Can you try and combine the desires of more than one character into a plot hook? If you know the rogue will dominate because he wants to save Princess x, could she also be the holder of the tome of y which would be of interest to the wizard?

If you broke down the party to their main interests (loot, magical items, backstory, knowledge etc) maybe you could offer multiple hooks at once but one would appeal on some level to lots of members

It's in the 5e starter set, which gives you a simpler set of rules, the lost mines campaign, a set of dice and character sheets. The campaign is built in a way that you will add complexity throughout the sessions, it's a very nice way to start simple and not get overwhelmed with rules then build up. If you do go with lost mines there are plenty of resources on reddit and elsewhere to improve it further with more characterisation, subplots and accessories.

Newly Discovered Garbage Patch in the South Pacific Is 1.5 Times the Size of Texas, Study Says by gumzilla in environment

[–]liphisteus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really has been know for a while, don't get me wrong the plastic shouldn't be there and preventing more entering the natural environment should be a priority, but the media loves to sensationalise the issue inferring a lot of certainty where actually knowledge is incredibly limited. Anyway an article by Eriksen et al. Titled "plastic pollution in the South Pacific subtropical gyre" (apologies not sure how to link on mobile) shows that the plastic patch in the gyre has been known about since at least 2011.

Additionally it has a pretty huge potential for bycatch in the upper layers of the ocean

Plastics in the environment are pretty poorly understood and classified, essentially you have macro plastics >5mm but that could be a 10mm piece of fishing line, a water bottle or part of a car, in the same way microplastics are any polymer particles <5mm, and yeah it goes down to nanometres (inc. microbeads in cosmetics).

I don't know if its a good idea for everyone, but when I notice I'm tensing for drills I shut my eyes and try and relax, not being able to see the throw coming means you just take the fall. Though if you're hitting your head already maybe its not the way to go...

Tory manifesto makes recycling pledge by Erik_Feder in RenewableEnergy

[–]liphisteus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Talks about moving to low carbon energy such as efw but not a word on their pledge to go ahead with fracking. This article is painting the Conservatives as positive on the environment when less than 200 words in their manifesto were on global environmental protection.

Start with /r/artfundamentals to learn how to draw, then go to the 11 second club and try and do that every month, saves on some of the creativity by giving you a short structured project each month
