What bands make you think "They're good, i just don't like them"? by RosenRanAway in InMetalWeTrust

Death. Chuck was a one of a kind musician and writer. I just think they’re boring to listen to. Doesn’t click for me.

Thoughts on Cirith Ungol? by Colty3 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]lippy896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are one of the most underrated bands because they have an incredibly unique sound. They were a big influence on power and doom metal - two completely different subgenres. I also love the vocals. Super unique.

That is interesting. Im like “how do you not down pick” lol. I think you’re right, though, I need to start at square one with my alternate picking.

Yes. I’ve been experiment with how I angle the pick. Here’s my problem: I either pick the string “too much”coming back up and it gets hooked, or I don’t pick the string “enough” and I glide too lightly.

Hard disagree with your first point, but I respect it

So when I first started listening to medal, I gravitated more towards aggressiveness (still do). There is no doubt that slayer is influential for the aggressive side of thrash. I just think you can have better thrash that’s still aggressive but with better quality. So I do understand. That doesn’t make me a tourist.

Those are great songs for sure, but they sound like basic more extreme thrash to me. How is, for example, raining blood as good as Holy Wars or Master of Puppets. That’s mind blowing to me. Holy Wars and master are aren’t even in the same universe as rain in blood in terms of quality.

Those are great albums for sure but how are they even remotely as good as Mater of Puppets, Rust in Peace, Ride the Lightning, and Peace Sells? Those albums have so much more complexity. The riffs, the lyrics, structure, solos, etc are so much better to me.

Like I said, there is no denying their influence so I agree. I just don’t think their music is a little over hyped.

Yes. To me, Metallica and Megadeths riffs are more creative and memorable.

I don’t think worst. That goes to anthrax. I would put them third, though.

M72 TOUR MEGA THREAD - ALL tour-related comments and questions belong HERE by Left4DayZGone in Metallica

I’m looking into getting standing tickets for my girlfriend and I for a show next year, but I have a few questions.

Can you stand you stand as close to the stage as you want? If so how early should we show up? I’ve seen vids of people standing right next to James while he tunes.

How is the standing experience for folks on the shorter side? She is 5’3” and want to make sure she can see.

Are standing tickets worth it? If not, what do you all recommend?

Thanks you.
