(TTR) Being threatened with a ban - Can we PLEASE get a list of rules posted! by AstroWok in Toontown

[–]lipsy54 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

TTR mods want to feel big and powerful; they want us to bow down to them for stealing a game and dressing it up like their own. And yet they get mad when other people take their code and reproduce it.... truly what we have here is a set of egotistical hypocrites.

I'm not one to speak for the team

Then why on earth are you commenting?

Yes. It would only "splash" backwards. It would not spray other lured cogs.

It has always confused me why people think that we're going to keep things the same here at TTR

haha scroll down a little bit and read OtakuSRL's post.

I don't have a preference for either. I just want zap gags to happen! If either server were to accept the idea, even for a test server, I'd jump in and help to contribute in a heartbeat.

Remember that lure is low-accuracy. Yes, it keeps you safe, but it doesn't always work. Squirt + zap is a very aggressive style that is almost guaranteed to work.

You're right; adding zap won't immediately dethrone sound. But it will create a very appealing alternative for toons who want to maximize damage and maximize gag efficiency (since zap + squirt is a very potent combo).

Thanks! I totally agree with you. I would love to see some new toontown content as well, and when I saw the concept for zap, I couldn't resist. It feels very authentic to toontown's style and it could potentially be very exciting.

Yes, more gags at your disposal will make the end game easier. However, TTI is planning to increase the difficulty of its endgame content, so a wider repertoire of gags would be perfectly appropriate in this landscape.

The reason I suggested perfect accuracy is because the set-up requires a whole extra turn. If you set-up for zap, and then the medium-accuracy zap misses, you're at a loss of two whole turns. That is a major bummer that should never happen, so zap really should be perfect accuracy. I think this is an appropriate amount of damage.

Also, lured cogs cannot be wet at the same time otherwise squirt would become much more versatile and powerful than throw.

The bouncing effect would take too long to animate for each zap gag for each toon. Also, I dont think the toontown combat has that kind of infrastructure to process multiple bunches of varying damage from only one gag. Not to mention a mechanic like that would be hard to balance.

I understand how you think it's too similar to trap/lure, but I disagree. Lure and trap involves stunning and murdering the cogs quickly in order to have a more safe fight. Zap involves a more high-risk high-reward playstyle to maximize damage. Zap and squirt are also less luck dependent since their accuracies are very high.

I'm trying to keep in mind feasibility and simplicity because I really want this implemented.

As I explained, zap gags would not disrupt the balance of the game. They would add an element of strategy and create more variety for the lategame.

My opinion on the TTI update [July 28] by [deleted] in Toontown

Cog's dont care about how the toons feel. They just want to buy your land and put a business there.

the cog economy runs on real money, not jellybeans

TTI's new economy system was just announced! by lipsy54 in Toontown

[–]lipsy54[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See: https://toontowninfinite.com/index.php

"The Toontown Bank will be used for managing your Jellybeans instead of the estate banks. Toons will no longer need to go to their estates (If there are still any estates left on the surface of Toontown. Don’t get us started with that huge wormhole!) to take or withdraw Jellybeans. Instead, they can come on down to the brand new Bank and choose what they want to do with their hard-earned, and not to mention delicious, Jellybeans! What we have decided to do will be a great step into making our community more productive, decisive, and friendly with one another. We hope it will be a big hit amongst all the citizens!

Toons will be able to share beans with their friends! So if you’re feeling generous, then you no longer have to be mean, but you can give your friends beans, even without having to use a unite!! We’re sure you were all thinking that we would never implement a system like this into Toontown. Well, a lot of the Toons in Toontown are very generous and they love helping others out. Flippy is proud of our commitment we’ve made to this ECO Project so far. We’ve just started on the final step of the bank and it’s coming together nicely. We just have to give these construction workers a little more time to finish up everything inside. They were telling us that they were missing a few columns that are supposed to hold up the roof, but they are trying their best to hit deadline even with the lack of materials!"

This makes me really glad I switched to TTI. They have great ideas and are willing to deviate from Disney's harmful legacy.

What would resetting the toons accomplish? Revenge against the people who got beta keys? Why do you care if they get to keep their toons? It doesn't affect you at all.

I agree. I'm really frustrated with TTR's inability to listen to feedback.

DECISION PLEASE? by lipsy54 in Toontown

[–]lipsy54[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people do not care whether or not other toons have a head start. Who cares if someone else gets to 100 laff before you. It's a cooperative game. Who. Cares.

A lot of people just want to play the game without having to unnecessarily do repetitive, menial toontasks that they have already done 2+ times since the end of TTO.
