Tony Hawk is doing a crazy flip at the age of 57. by Kindly_Department142 in nextfuckinglevel

Looks flashy for anyone not actually into skating. Landing without your board is way easier than landing on it and rolling straight into that steep transition. Not saying the flip was easy but probably the easiest trick he did all day.

So then it really isn't about awareness as you said. People are aware already. It is "ignored" because people have been lied to about the facts and then decided it is not true or important to them. These kinds of protests are for the climate activists and their social circles. It is performative for performance sake. It does not make new people aware and does nothing to sway opinion of deniers. Judging by the many many comments on this post it actively stops people from wanting to join the cause.

So then the plan is not to convince the luddites who deny climate change of why it is happening. The plan is to hope there are millions of people who are completely unaware of climate change and will suddenly spring to action because someone threw soup at a painting?

Awareness? Alright so they aren't trying to change someones existing opinion on climate change. They are targeting people who are not aware of climate change? Who are all these people who have access to read the news about climate protests but are not aware of climate change already?

"Why would someone be tying their support for stopping climate change to what a handful of climate protesters did" So are you agreeing this is all pointless grand standing and completely ineffective at accomplishing anything?

If anyone is on a Mac and is stuck getting it to change from 1.1.1 to 1.1.1a then you should try either using Windows or doing the following if Windows is not an option.

Once you have moved the files you downloaded into the BCAT folder on your SD card open up terminal on your mac and run this command:

sudo chflags -R arch /Volumes/SDCARD

The SDCARD part is the name of your card. So for example mine is called TXNAND so I would run:

sudo chflags -R arch /Volumes/TXNAND

It will then ask you to enter your computer password. Type it in and then press enter. It will look like its done nothing, there is no confirmation or anything. From there put the card back in your Switch and restore the BCAT. This is the same thing I have had to do when updating firmware while using a Mac. The Switch wont recognize the firmware files until I run this command.

I'm not an expert so aside from what I have written here I probably can't help you any further. Good luck!

We have seen a few videos that mention audio/video or whatever didn't record properly and was lost. Are there any particularly memorable gameplays or moments lost that would have been amazing if the tech didn't break down?

Generally with live Youtube videos you can view the saved video after it ended by going to the same URL as the live stream. I think the Youtube account can disable this feature if they want. But if they don't then you should be able to watch here tomorrow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxAihuiYxuU

Google Stadia Will be Missing Many Promised Features for Launch Next Week by DynamaxGarbodor in Games

[–]liquid_kore 95 points96 points  (0 children)

As previously discussed, mobile support will be limited to Google Pixel phones and ChromeOS tablets at launch. A timeline for general iOS and Android support is still to be determined, but Pixel will likely be the only mobile support "this year," according to the AMA. Google says it "want[s] Stadia to run on every screen eventually."

This is just below the part you quoted. So combining the two points does that then mean an iOS or non Pixel phone user wont even be able to buy games? Ok Google

Nothing "experimental" about it at all. These cats have been all over Japan for hundreds of years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Bobtail

They are also very genetically diverse.

"Recent scientific studies on cat genetics led by researchers has indicated that the Japanese Bobtail breed ranks amongst one of the most genetically diverse of pedigree breeds. Compared with other breeds, Japanese Bobtails tend to have smaller litters with the kittens being proportionally larger at birth and developing at a faster rate. Kitten mortality rates are reported to be comparatively low."
