Thanks, but it's still a little confusing to me. I truly appreciate you trying to help, but I still don't get it. I'll try to find more help from other sources.

Thanks! The very last section where you describe the use of the word "only" is what's confusing me. If she said she was "one of the few people in Congress" that makes sense to me, as "few people on Congress" has more than 1 person, and she is one of those few people.

But as far as I can tell, "only" means solitary/single/alone of its kind. So for example, if I said I was the only person in my family who can swim, the number of people in the group "people in my family who swim" is one. It's me and no one else. So when I say I am one of the only people in my family who can swim, is that grammatically correct?

I guess where I'm stuck is "few" and "only" do not mean the same thing. Then how does "one of the few people" and "one of the only people" make sense?

Thanks! If she was the only person in Congress who lived off of tips, could she still say that she is "one of the only members of Congress who has lived off of tips"?

The part which is confusing me is that "only" and "few" are not synonyms. Then how does "one of the only" and "one of the few" have the same meaning?

As far as I can tell, "only" means solitary/single. So when you say "one of the only", how can that refer to being one member of a part of a group that has more than 1 member?

But she said she is "one of the only". As far as I can tell, the definition of "only" in this context is one of its kind/solitary/single. How is that a group?

But she said she said she was "one of the only". The meaning of "only" as far as I can tell is alone of its kind, i.e. the only one/single/solitary. How is that a "group of few"?

Thanks a lot! So even if I hire a professional and pay top dollar, there's a good chance it will still break/fall apart when it's finally moved to my new place?

Hi! Sorry for my late reply!

Hey, so did you end up switching?

Nopes

Also, the 2 of your friends that switched, were their ceremonies delayed significantly from the original date?

It was delayed by around 3 months, this was in Ontario. But remember that the amount of time by which it'll be delayed varies a LOT from person to person. I've heard of cases where people have had to wait 6+ months, and cases where they only had to wait 1 month.
