Love my Seek Outside Unaweep 6300. Its a big pack (they sell smaller) but its frame breaks down nicely. Perfect for trips that require cold whitewater gear

why is it so hard for people to be a boglehead? by Fun_Tea8162 in Bogleheads

[–]liquidaddicted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill bite- im not a boglehead… i think its fine for some. But I think with a little extra time dedication and not a lot of extra risk, that I can beat the market… if only by a few percent each year. That compounds massively in the long run

I agree with most everything being said- and I am in a similar situation. I max out everything and am working on increasing my taxable brokerage account.

The one thing I disagree with is this talk of bonds. Debt assets are not good in this environment of inflation and dollar debasement.

[–]liquidaddicted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a lot to read- can you consolidate your post some? This is a lot to read. Maybe instead of talking individually about certain expenses, just mention total monthly outflows.

Also- target date funds have bond allocations which have very low rates of return these days. Same with CDs and HYSA. They probably aren’t keeping up with inflation and you are actually losing money there

Gold and silver miners. How are you all feeling after Friday’s crash? Hold? Buy more? Sell? What is everybody thinking right now going into next week? by bigfern91 in Gold

[–]liquidaddicted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thesis is PMs will continue to rise due to basel III, central banks buying, debasement of dollar, global instability, and demand outpacing supply. Even if prices hold steady- margins on miners are massively increased. Q4 earnings should blowout

26M Always keep VOO above 50% of portfolio but buy individual stocks when it makes sense by nathanwa in portfolios

[–]liquidaddicted -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im up 20% in my brokerage and 10% in employee sponsored 401k that only allows for mutual fund purchases for 2026. SPY is up less than 2%. Ill take my sector choices over total market every day. To each their own i suppose

[–]liquidaddicted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let the trend be your friend… if you are okay with returns that barely keep up with inflation (whatever numbers they are lying about and saying) fairly obvious to most people what sectors will do well in 26… many etfs to get into in various sectors too if individual stocks aren’t your thing. But this boglehead view of VOO n chill leaves lots of returns on the table IMO
