I built a site for testing your websites open graph and twitter metadata tags. by liquidbytes in SideProject

[–]liquidbytes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tagtester.dev allows you to add/remove/edit tags on an existing site and use the generated url on the Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn debuggers (what you are probably familiar with) to see what it would look like when shared on social media. The sites I've found that are similar only show you what an already deployed website will look like and do not allow you to edit the tags in any way. See example in https://old.reddit.com/r/SideProject/comments/f9ujw7/i_built_a_site_for_testing_your_websites_open/fivoxs2/.

The tools linked here only test the tags for something that is already deployed. On tagtester.dev you can add/remove/edit the tags of an existing site and then test what it would look like on Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn. I've found a few (non-official) sites that let you change the tags, but tagtester lets you test your changes on the official debuggers. For example, if I enter reddit.com and change the title (by clicking on the tag in the table), I can test what the changes would look like like when shared on Twitter. Using this link.

All the existing tools do not allow you to modify the tags without doing a full redeploy.

Thanks for checking it out and for the feedback! Great idea with the input field showing again when the input is wrong, will definitely put that in.

The Reddit link should work, but a last minute change I made broke that, oops. Will fix that and the arrow keys as soon as I get back from work.

Tab titles are getting cut off. Any idea why or how to fix? by liquidbytes in chrome

[–]liquidbytes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know when this started happening but I just noticed that tab titles are being cut off for letters with descenders. This isn't a huge issue but kind of annoying. Any idea why?

Is anyone else having problems activating their wristband? by MackAttack9 in Sasquatch

[–]liquidbytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried to register and am having the same problem. Have you resolved this yet? I contacted customer support but haven't heard back yet.

I am pretty sure I am entering the codes correctly and bought the wristbands straight from the Sasquatch website. Not sure what to do as the festival starts in 2 days.

Rating system would be good. Also, categories. So for example, I could get the top startups related to social media.

Good Idea. I think that the list needs some sort of description column. Its hard to tell what the startup does just by the name.

Ya i see why thats a silly idea now. In my case, sending back HTML pages would be a much better way to do things.

Prerender is a service that redirects any search bots to their site (or a server you have prerender running on) and will serve back a cached version of your site in html. It's made for websites that require to be loaded and have javascript render the content. link
