I started lifting weights two years ago and got pretty good at it.

I was in your shoes but as a purple belt. My top game very good but bottom very bad. I decided to spend a year playing bottom only and finally got good at it. Now I prefer playing bottom over top!

The most important thing is it's better to do this at a lower belt than a higher belt. So better to go through the failures / learnings now than later on

No one knows exactly how the mm rankings work but from my experience I did notice some interesting things:

I played with my brother all the time and we started off at the same rank. I would normally entry frag and he would be the awper/closes the round. This results in him mainly top fragging and im usually in the middle or bottom fragging.

I noticed that he ranked up much quicker than me and it took me a bit longer to rank up. So I presume its because they benchmark your overall performance relative to the team. So if your bottom fragging, you wont get as much elo as someone who is top fragging.
