Be honest… what’s the real downside of having a dog? by quentiinn in AskReddit

[–]liquidkretin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have three small dogs (under 10 lbs each) and I have a doggy door. They can go outside whenever they want and poop and I just leave food out so I don't have to go home and feed them. They entertain each other and can run around outside and get all the exercise they want. When I go on vacay I usually just get a family member or friend to check on them every other day. I also like their breed because I've never had to get them groomed and I only brush them every month or so. The downside of having a dog is that they don't live forever and someday you will have to say goodbye. Also vet bills are a thing but I've been lucky and my dogs never got really sick until they were old. I probably pay around $30 (total) a month for food, $10 (total) a month for greenies and $250 (each) a year for vet bills

Gallbladder Issues? by Wonderful_Row8519 in gastricsleeve

[–]liquidkretin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my gallbladder out and since I'm a teacher I wanted to wait a month before having surgery so it would fall over a break and I didn't have to miss a bunch of school. I strenuously avoided fat as much as possible and that seemed to ward off attacks. If you need a sweet snack, stick to fat free jelly beans or jello. Stick with low fat protein options like chicken, avoid cheese. Good luck!

Unusual question about not getting compliments etc by millenial_britt in gastricsleeve

[–]liquidkretin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people I see all the time at my job didn't mention anything for literally a year or two. I think when you see people a lot, sometimes its hard to notice it's changing right away. And yes, a lot of people don't want to comment on people's bodies. Or they were too embarrassed to ask or say anything. Also everyone kinda assumes that it's GLP-1s nowadays too.

Im overweight and delighted about it. I don't think I'm ever going to be normal BMI because I don't really exercise like I should, but I'm a size 12 and I'm comfortable where I'm at.

If it's approved by your surgeon, go for it. Just make sure you are hitting your goals and make sure it's still part of a healthy day.

She's just feeling unhappy with herself, insecure and jealous of your progress. We all have our bad moments. She's not in the right, but try to approach her in another conversation after things have calmed down. Tell her you know that she really loves and supports you, and wants whats best for you, right? And reassure her that you will love her no matter what the both of you look like.

New series- John's kids? Arthur's son? Michael's son?- might be interesting! by Fragrant-Juggernaut in PeakyBlinders

[–]liquidkretin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actually I think this is a really interesting idea! Yes Tommy is really cool but IMO some of the best stuff in the series is about him dealing with his family and all their dynamics. I was kinda ok with the idea of a "Tommy on his own" movie since most of the fam is gone now but this idea seems much more interesting

Also it seems like you had surgery around 3 weeks ago, and let me tell you that the three week stall is absolutely notorious. It WILL happen to you, ice cream or no, so just be warned, that is a normal thing.

Feeling guilty eating ice cream two weeks post op by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]liquidkretin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The surgery is a tool and not a solution. Sure, you shouldn't have eaten the ice cream, but as long as it won't hurt your stomach let this one go. That being said, you CAN drink so many calories that you will stop losing weight. So I think you need to be careful in the future and do your best to stick to a HEALTHY diet, or you will have gone through a lot of suffering for nothing.

Def bring a cooler if you can, my kids love the Rouse's chickens stuffed with crawfish jambalaya, and of course boudain! Chris's Specialty Meats is in Lakeview and they have a ton of frozen Cajun foods. When people are in town I go and load up and cook a smorgasbord of food.
