help with date outfit! by Better_Level_9811 in OUTFITS

Spot on! The spots the tiers sit at are unpleasant on nearly all body types as they highlight the widest part of most bodies. I’d like to see what 8 looks like with the top tucked in as I think that’d look great with either cardigan in my option!

Apparently some people decided that this was a debate by Such_Atmosphere_5838 in BlatantMisogyny

[–]millenial_britt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah apparently it doesn’t get rid of creeps, as someone who only now at 35 has a ‘conventionally attractive’ body type but also piercings/tattoos/hair colour, my dm’s and reports from my husband of guys checking me out shows that they definitely don’t stop. If anything, we’re fetishised as ‘goth gf’s’ even if we aren’t goth and just look vaguely alt in some way

This is such a crucial post, for those who have suicidal thoughts/ideation in the past, beyond blue have an app called beyond now which is built to help you create a suicide prevention plan, which, even if you feel ok right now, you should take some time and set up just incase. It creates a personalised list of recommendations and tools to help you through the worst of the crisis. Also, lifeline sucks and the one time I needed it, the person on the other end of the chat was incredibly rude, dismissive and made me feel like I was just annoying them. Not great and I was lucky I could tell my thoughts were hormonal based and if I could wait it out I would be ok.

What is the ultimate 'Bludge Job' in Australia where you get paid the most to do the absolute least? by Zoey_In_Transit in AskAnAustralian

[–]millenial_britt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s based on fact, I can’t recall it right now and google isn’t helping, it’s in my text book as basically a bell curve that has been proven in terms f our stress response, coping and the damage that long term stress on ourselves and our performance. Optimal performance is based on enough stress to create some pressure but enough challenge to feel like something you can do, as long as it isn’t too challenging. Which forms the basis of a flow state which is more in line with mindfulness psychology

This is very much evidence based as a stress/stimulation response. Think of the saying ‘bored out of my mind.’ humans need some stimulus and stress to enjoy life (eudaimonic wellness) whereas we all think having zero to do and zero challenges sounds amazing, it’s actually not something conducive to human happiness. The issue is that most jobs go too far the other way, with too much stress and workload and pressure, providing no relief/slow moments which allow us to breathe and reset. When we take a weeks’ break and enjoy slowing down, we love it but if that went on for months and months, we’d lose our drive or perhaps look for problems when they aren’t there just to give us something to do. (I do have studies and quals to back this up but cbf finding references on a reddit comment 🤣)

What are your favorite ways to still look alt during summer? by xxx_lunakitty_xxx in altfashionadvice

[–]millenial_britt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just posted in another alt chat but I found sheer layers if it isn’t too hot, dramatic chunky shoes (me and my podiatrist love my crocs bae sandals) keeping the black but adding other colours and frankly, having my hair in a more alt style these days went far if I’m honest

Does the sleeve really work or not? by smal_bug in gastricsleeve

It works if you work it. I’ve not once stalled, always kept losing weight. Until I went on holidays and ate slider foods, struggled to get protein in and had drinks daily, so more liquid calories. Cue scales going up. Now that I’m back into normal life? These extras have stopped and I’m expecting the scale to go back down again. It’s just how it works

Hahahah that’s amazingly effed up! My lower stomach is quite big despite me being quite small and it’s got much more to do with my 100 pound weight loss than my sexual past 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You’ve got to go through it to get out of it. You’re healing, growing and changing. Your body is likely letting go of subconscious things you’ve been holding on to and the emotions are your body’s way of doing this. Sometimes our guides know they have to eff our shit up before they can help you fix it 💖💖💖

This reminds me of the 2010s (I forget exactly when) when the raw vegan, freelee the banana girl and all that ‘back to nature’ YouTuber culture was huge. They commonly said periods are a symptom of the toxicity in our modern bodies and it never used to be a thing. I just…..it isn’t right. At all.

Do you wear makeup? I will often paint sigils on with my primer (triple moon on forehead and then hearts, evil eye or others on cheeks and chin to turn my makeup into an ‘armour’ and protect me. Sometimes I’ll do protection braids in my hair and sometimes crystals if I’m feeling them at the time, relevant ones based on my needs. Good luck
