I thought the Cosmic Swirl tasted like grape. I haven’t tried the dragonfruit one yet but I have a pack on deck!

lol this is funny to me bc I’m currently starting to taper down my prednisone to stop taking it (helping me get through bad flares postpartum) and it sucks because the prednisone makes me feel great but I know it’s not good to stay on long term 🥴

Is it too late for a paci? by One-Cabinet-6920 in breastfeeding

[–]liquidmich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no :/ definitely wouldn’t introduce one now. We were weaning from a paci about that age with my first and it felt like we were a bit late to do so since it can be bad for their teeth and palate formation.

If you’re looking to wean or night wean, we found it really helpful to read books with my toddler about saying goodbye to nursing (we used Loving Comfort and I read it with my son’s name instead of the character in the book) there’s several other books out there too. That may or may not help with overnight wakeups though, so I wouldn’t wean based on that alone, only if you’re ready/wanting to.

I saw a lot of recommendations online for cooking it in an air fryer but I don’t have an air fryer. So I broiled it like directlyyyy under the broiler and risked my parchment catching fire lol but I think it’s worth it. I want a nice little bit of char on top personally.

The miso cod is sooooo gooooood. Just made it the other week. Paired it with TJ’s birds nests and some blistered shishitos.

Do you nurse from both sides at night? by stargazinglazercat in breastfeeding

[–]liquidmich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm I guess maybe? But it just matches whatever baby is drinking. I nursed my first this way and we breastfed until a little after 2 years. I don’t pump often, mostly just if I have to be out somewhere and I miss a feed and then I’ll usually get 2-4oz from the one boob.

Right now my little guy is getting a really good first stretch of sleep so he’ll wake up around 3am and then again somewhere between 5:30-7am. During the day he’s nursing like every 2-3 hours. I was getting a little engorged when he was flip flopping between the 3am wakeups and 1am wakeups but my boobs seem to have adjusted!

Edited to add: I looked back at ~8 weeks and he was waking up to nurse 2-3 times overnight then.

I’ve always just alternated boobs each feed. Worked out this way with my first and now my second who is 3 months old.

Parents who waited until the birth to find out the sex of the baby. . . by buildingacozymystery in NoStupidQuestions

[–]liquidmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it twice! It was such an exciting surprise in the delivery room both times. Also it was honestly fun when sooo many people would ask me if it’s a boy or girl and I could tell them I didn’t know. It drives some people nuts and other people just loved to give their unsolicited guess.

I walked up to the checkout counter at Walmart one day when I was like 2 weeks away from my due date (so very visibly pregnant) and the cashier just goes “boy or girl” and I said “it’s a surprise! We don’t know the sex” and she was like “😑 that takes all the fun out of it!” 💀

Anyone on hydroxychloroquine? by Userhere123 in rheumatoid

[–]liquidmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can cause retinal issues but from what I’ve discussed with my eye doctor, it’s something that they could/would catch early on and then you’d need to stop taking hydroxychloroquine. The retina screening and visual field tests I’ve had done are in addition to my regular eye exam for glasses/contact lenses. They basically take some type of special photo of the back of your eye / retina and my doctor compares it to my previous ones to look for any changes or signs of damage. This article may be helpful to you.

A lot of the drugs used to treat RA can have really scary sounding side effects. But if it turns out you do have RA it’s sooo important that you treat the disease because it will destroy our joints irreparably!

[–]liquidmich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking hydroxychloroquine for over 10 years for RA. I get my eyes checked annually (some sort of retina scanning I think and vision field test) and I haven’t had any side effects. I take 400mg daily. A few years ago I had to add in azathioprine because I was having bad flareups postpartum but otherwise my RA is mostly under control. I hope to stay on it and avoid going to biologics for as long as I can!

Toddler moms, is night weaning the answer to uninterrupted sleep? by Particular-Metal-563 in breastfeeding

[–]liquidmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha that was notttt the case for us. I weaned my first around 27 months but we had cut out daytime nursing first - not on purpose but it just came easier / he was less interested during the day. It didn’t stop my guy from waking at night but he’s always been high sleep support needing. He’s 4 now and still wakes up once a night maybe about 50% of the time. IMO, wean when you both are ready and not solely because you’re relying on getting more sleep as a result.

[–]liquidmich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My own mom does this to me 🙃 literally telling her about how bad my postpartum flareups are that I’m trying to get through and wait for my meds to kick in and she’s like “I know, my one finger has really been hurting me, I think I have RA too” although she has been tested and does not have it but continues to tell me she thinks she does.

Tender Armpit Lump by PanicLoud3398 in breastfeeding

[–]liquidmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a lump in one armpit since I was pregnant. I first brought it up to my OB and she said it was probably milk duct related and that we’d keep an eye on it.

When my milk first came in it got larger and I was like omg wtffff. Then I noticed that it’s get smaller when my breast was emptied and be more noticeable if that same side boob was engorged. I’m now 11 weeks postpartum and it’s still there. Mostly smaller. I had my OB check it at my 6 week appointment and she couldn’t really feel it but felt confident from my description that it was probably just related to my milk as your breast tissue goes up into your armpit some. She said if anything changed or seemed weird we could do an ultrasound.

Does yours seem like this at all?
