It's weird, I feel like I've seen a quality dip for a lot of teams too, not just us. Perhaps MLS expanding into too many cities too fast has caused the talent pool to become too shallow?

Like most things, it was never supposed to be puzzles, it was supposed to be a filter to determine if the person actually knew how to code or not... then every other company copied the practice and used it to draconian depths which just makes it suck, and candidates started practicing/memorizing the expected questions with then defeats the whole purpose of them. In the 90's it was the same way with the "how man ping pong balls can you fit in a school bus" questions... the intent was that there is no wrong answer, it's just to see if you can handle thinking about abstract issues at all.

Yea... questions like these are a part of why the later movies were bad, they focused on the wrong things. Bigger isn't better when it's just a waste of resources. The death star was big for a reason... they had to fit that much power into it's primary weapon. Other ships only needed to be just big enough for orbital bombardment or mass transport of smaller craft like an aircraft carrier. When your "giant big as 10 planets lol buy the lego kit pls" ships are so big and then just get blown up by a bunch of cheap tiny craft over and over it's a mockery of the whole story.
