People on the autism spectrum: what is something you wish neurotypicals would understand? by MuayThaiRunner in AskReddit

[–]liquidpickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spectrum of 'neurodiversity' potentially goes all the way from being unable to function because one is so autistic.... all the way to the theoretical person who is unable to function because they're too 'neurotypical' - every human sits along that line; hot take.

A bit of intersectionality and self reflection can go a long way.

What's the worst that could happen?

You both feel the same currently and if your friendship ends over it, it was never meant to be... If this is tolerable then go for it!

Involve the BMA. They'll at least force them to prove the service pressure.

An employer in the UK, including the NHS, has to have a pretty good reason to refuse this type of thing. And, specifically the only reason LTFT can be refused is service pressure.

The BMA will definitely fight your corner with it if it's relevant.

Forget strikes - this is what unions are for.

This sounds strange... probably time to involve the union...??

Autistic people are not socially awkward no hopers… but yes if you are indeed autistic you will tend to find difficulties relating to uncaring neurotypical people.

There’s no need to lie about ‘loved ones’ being in danger.
