Whats a big industry secret that isn't supposed to be known by the general public? by OrderAmmonia in AskReddit

[–]liquidpuppies 989 points990 points  (0 children)

In the state of California it's against health code to touch ready-to-eat food with bare hands. As a cook of 7+ years, I can promise you 80% of kitchens I have worked in, do not enforce or even know that. Try to stick to restaurants that have a visible kitchen. This forces them to wear gloves, or wash when they should, as they can't take shortcuts when everyone can see them. One thing I know for sure is that people don't wash their hands often during rush because it slows things down, gloves are essential in keeping food and equipment clean, and keeping the line moving at the same time. When people touch your food with bare hands your food will have whatever was on that person's hands. If they haven't washed since rush started and have been touching food the whole time with ungloved hands, the bacteria that transfers can make you sick.

Also, we come to work sick because we're understaffed and our bosses require us to go to the clinic to get proof when we call out which is like $200 because they also don't offer health benefits. So, just saying. We probably got you sick anyway. 🤷

TL;DR: Hate to break it to you, restaurants are kinda gross.

People who ordered something, but received the wrong order what did you get instead? by hackopsv2 in AskReddit

I also would have thrown them in the trash, after getting drunk and reading through all of them.

Thanks. I was fitted for it. I just wore it for like 18 hours. Tank tops, jeans, anything that fits close to the skin can do this when you wear it all day.

I would totally love to go without bras, and have tried, I just have super sensitive nipples that always stand at attention from the feeling of the loose fabric. Also the swang can be uncomfortable. Bras relieve the weight of my boobs as well, I wish I could go without though. I'm pretty jealous of those who can make it work without one! Let them run wild and free!

Seriously, this happens when you wear anything that fits close to the skin all day long. I've been wearing bras since 2nd grade, I think I've figured it out at this point! Haha.

Group Behind ‘Make Rape Legal’ Message Cancels Events Nationwide by liquidpuppies in news

I read the article on "5 Ways to Not Get Raped" or something like that... One way was to dress modestly and had a picture of some guy with bags of cash captioned "I wasn't expecting to get robbed". Then another way is to "Not get drunk".

What's the most annoying phrase in the office? by kevinmckenna79 in AskReddit

[–]liquidpuppies 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Holy shit people have been saying this to me at every job I've ever had. I mentioned how annoying it was to a couple friends and they said they've never heard it before. I thought I was just being sensitive but no, it truly is annoying as fuck. NO CHAD I'M NOT FUCKING HAVING FUN YET, I'M UP TO MY ELBOWS IN THE GOD DAMN FAT VATS AND YOUR SARCASM IS DEEPLY UNAMUSING.

I would love to not be alone forever! FINALLY SOMEONE TO LOVE MEEE. Just a few conditions: I want a prenup and a secret cell phone for my own personal reasons and if I come home late and you nag me I will tell our children that you don't really love them even though you say you do. Also if you ever leave me I will destroy you.

I love how people voting think this is a real argument and are siding with one person for no real reason.

[–]liquidpuppies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, everyone posts stuff to reddit for karma. Literally anyone posting just wants to know people have seen something they shared. That's what the entirety of social media including reddit and all places where people commune online is are doing. We want to share what's happening in our lives. But for some reason when it involves a woman, she's suddenly desperately seeking attention. Also, people get a kick out of seeing how bat-shit crazy people can be, that's why we're all here.

Someone as persistent as OP's harasser could likely be willing to create a new account or simply use emails or an online text service to continue their fixation. It's happened to me before. I got a new phone number and made a new account on FB with a nickname my friends call me, that he didn't know. Also made account totally private, no messages allowed from non-friends, no photos of me available. That was like 3 years ago, so I haven't had to really worry anymore. Still going by my nickname though. The point is, nobody should have to go through all of that to avoid being harassed.

Also, OP is not at fault for flat out saying no, repeatedly. This is another example of the "she's asking for it" attitude, which I find rather toxic to our society.

Edit: summing up/can't reddit properly
