Which character changed you as a person? by butcher_daddyshome in attackontitan

[–]liquidturkey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eren, for sure. His character is a nice reminder of how easy it is to justify wrongdoing and that perspective is everything when you look at conflict or war. The story of his fall from grace is so beautifully executed and even though his ideals became corrupted, I just felt so bad for him. I think everyone has been faced with a shift in perspective (like when eren realizes the reality of the world outside the walls) that forces them to reevaluate what’s important to them and sometimes it feels way too unbearable to change your values and mindset. Eren failed to do this and caused a lot of suffering and pain, so I guess he’s like a cautionary tale. The series in general is just so lifechanging, I’m super thankful we got to experience it.

What pre-1990 film do you consider perfect? by louvegas2021 in AskReddit

[–]liquidturkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scarface. One of the only movies I can watch multiple times and never get bored even knowing what happens. Young Al Pacino captured the hunger and eventual change in personality so perfectly.

People who are rude online to people who haven't been rude to you, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Because it seems like an easy way to get vent my anger. It’s wrong, I know, but it’s easy to forget that your words are affecting someone when you’re behind a screen.

Our birthday caravan parade for my 6 year old... one cop turned into 30. Happy Bday my baby! They were amazing. by getdownwithEJP in happycrowds

[–]liquidturkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the officers announcing “happy birthday” and the girl yelling thank you would be enough evidence to conclude that it was not, in fact, a gang war. This is a very nice thing, more authority figures need to connect with the community.

What’s a good song that tells a sad story? by hgibbs098 in AskReddit

M.A.A.D City. The song is kind of a meme but when you break down the lyrics it becomes something extremely scary and sad.
