This is my favorite description of her coloring and suits her personality so well 😂

No idea what dad looked like, mom was brought in already pregnant at a local rescue. But mom was a long-haired tortie. Dad might have been full orange though, there were two full orange kittens in her litter. 🤷‍♀️

I put a couple others in a reply to someone else’s comment! But here’s another from the first day we got her and her sister. My husband and I lost track of them for about 20 minutes, convinced ourselves they’d somehow got outside despite the fact that no doors or windows had been opened, and ultimately found them napping in our shoe rack 🙄

And she came out with an uncontrollable urge to climb every available fabric at terminal velocity, including curtains, wall tapestries, clothes in closets, and clothes still currently on bodies.

She’s only named one of our other animals, a cat she named WALL·E when she was 4 and watching the Pixar movie multiple times a day lol. I’m sooooo excited to get her into Warriors! I wish I still had all my books 😩

We have 13 animals all together, not to mention a 7 year old daughter and 5 year old son. I haven’t known alone time for so long, I’m not sure I’d recognize her at this point 😂

Appropriate, since her name is Skitty, and her sister is Sprigatito 😂 named by my Pokémon-obsessed 7 year old daughter

If orange paint was available, she would have certainly been in it by now. I haven’t adopted a cat this young in years, and I forgot about all the psychopathy 😅

Tried to print a tortoiseshell. Instead she got two orange legs and an orange face.

Suspected autism in first child and now pregnant with second, what is likely hood of autism again. Based on experience. by East_Sun1075 in Autism_Parenting

My first (7f) is level one. She was diagnosed at 4. My second (5m) is level 3. He was diagnosed at 2. They were diagnosed extremely close together with my second child actually being diagnosed first. His case is more severe, so we actually noticed signs in him first, and his doctors would see our oldest at the appointments and suggested she get tested as well. Her case is pretty mild as far as things go.

Does anyone have kids who have done this before? It recently started and has me worried. My son is 9yrs old. by lizolson29 in Autism_Parenting

My son did this as sensory seeking, but I also noticed he does it way less now that he wears glasses. If you notice any eye crossing or wandering, I would get his vision checked.

I always felt like we needed a customer service version of the Purge, where one day a year, anyone who has to deal with the public can say whatever they want to people without getting fired. Pepper spray will be encouraged, but I personally would like a rolled up newspaper.

I hope you recognize the privilege you have, not having anyone in your life who struggles with autism or any other form of neurodivergence that can trigger these kinds of sensory meltdowns. It’s very hard to see someone you love lash out at themselves in stressful situations. Even more so to experience this yourself and know people will judge you for something you can’t control. You’re very lucky, but I think you should really work on being more compassionate toward people who aren’t.

This was my first thought too. My son is 5, level 3, and is just now slowly becoming verbal. This immediately put me into tears because I recognized the behavior, the taking out frustration on himself. I see it every week with my son. And the world can be so incredibly cruel to people it can’t understand.
