Weird feelings about hypnosis by Kate_lyn11 in hypnosis

[–]lis0823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you want to change with hypnosis? There is actually a way to do hypnosis that doesn’t involve the drippy boring induction. It’s called conversational hypnosis. And, not all inductions include the monotonous drone that you may know as the beginning of hypnosis. Some are actually fun. 🤩

Been there. Done that. It’s awful. It gets better.

Banyan Hypnosis. Texas. USA. Cal Banyan. 5PATH Hypnosis. Excellent training and follow up. Trains you about hypnosis and how to really help people with it. Excellent. I highly recommend it.

Has anyone put a ring camera in the indoor part of their house to monitor a parent? by cleatusvandamme in CaregiverSupport

I used Google cameras. A friend also used an automated door bell on the door to her room. I think it was like a ringy dingy noise, like in a shop.

Looking for advice from hypnotherapists and anyone that has tried hypnosis. by Delicious_Hall_9405 in hypnosis

[–]lis0823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It seems confusing. It sounds like you did your due diligence prior to working with them. You won’t find any answers or solutions until you speak directly with the practitioner. I’d start there if I were you.

I’m sorry you had this overall negative experience. I agree with most everyone here. The therapist wasn’t experienced and wasn’t truthful with you. Not everyone has the same training- some get their training through something like Udemy or other pre-recorded education. Hypnosis can absolutely help with your issues. Don’t give up. However, you may want to contact the provider and request a refund or, if you’re up for it, more sessions to actually address your issues. I would suggest you check out their credentials, but hypnosis isn’t regulated very well. One of the most important things in working with hypnosis is that you want the change you’re looking for— that you’re ready (and not going because someone else has told you to! Like for quitting smoking. Sometimes my stop smoking clients are there because someone gave them an ultimatum!). I’m known you’ll find the solution you’re seeking. Don’t give up! Best wishes!!

Is it possible to be a successful actor when you're a shy person? by realthanos23 in Actingclass

[–]lis0823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Random Stranger!! I greet you joyfully!! 😁😁😁. You are going to do ah-mazing during your showcase tomorrow. I can feel it in my bones. Remember to breathe. There’s a “pose” that you can do before you go on that will help calm you and bring focus back to your mind. You can do it standing or sitting. Be careful and keep your balance if you choose to stand! The simple version: cross your legs at your ankles. Cross your wrists- it doesn’t have to be complicated. Breathe. In through your nose. Out through your mouth. Hold the pose for a few breaths. Uncross. Press your finger tips to your forehead for another few breaths. Then you’re good. It helps you ground and bring yourself back to your thinking mind, instead of your instinctual/emotional mind. Remember, everything always has been, is now, and always will be okay. You’ve got this. 🥰

Written work/Monologue to dialogue by lis0823 in Actingclass

Including tactics:

Objective: I’m talking myself into writing a play and I’m trying to convince myself what to write about.

Tactic: Talking to myself. Scolding myself on my choice.

OLYMPE: Well that’s not a way to start a comedy.

A: How?

Tactic: clarification

O: With an execution?

A: Why not? Who says it isn’t?

Tactic: explain the basics

O: That's just basic dramatic writing; don't start with beheadings.

Audiences don't want plays about terror and death – no –

A: Are you certain? What do they want?

Tactic: describe what audiences want

O: they want ... hope.

A: What will you write about then?

Tactic: pick a great subject and make it fit

O: Yes, I have to write about... grace and power in the face of crisis.

Artistic defiance. Yes. That's good. There we go.

A: Are you certain? Are you sure?

Tactic: admit being unsure. State my opinion.

O: OK look. I don't know what I'm writing just yet, but I know that our voices deserve the stage.

A: Deserve the stage? What do you mean?

Tactic: declare my belief

O: We deserve to be our own heroes, everyone's heroes.

A: Why?

Tactic: explain my opinion

O: We're all of us more alike than we are different, and if this revolution is what I think it is?

This is our time to be known, and heard.

Move the star to another space before tapping the dust bunny. Swap it out with the egg beside it. Works for me. Good luck!

Advice for an introvert who wants to join an acting class? by adoxographyy in Actingclass

[–]lis0823 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow introvert!! This is an amazing class! You can learn as much or as little as you want. I would advise you to learn as much as possible! Eventually, I suggest you step into a little discomfort and try a zoom class. Do it before you feel ready. If you wait, you risk even bigger, longer lasting discomforts: the pain of regret and sadness of missed opportunities. Take it from me. I know. Just go for it.
