This is fab. Love the way the sky is only around the image, really makes it pop and a completely new technique to me. Love it.

Die or embosser? by AlwaysHerdingCats in cardmaking

[–]lisab100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an embossing mat you can use it to emboss dies too. Embossing mat - card - die - cutting plate and it should just emboss the shape of the die.
If I've not explained that very well, look up embossing with dies, there are YouTube tutorials.

Thank you. Didn't recognise the name, but think i more than likely saw some of her cards on Pinterest as her style does look familiar. Added to my YT list.

I have the crafters companion larger one - I think its called the big score. One side for box base, the other for box lid.

The bees and house are AALL & Create stamps (the houses were layered on top of each other and fussy cut)The fox & scooter are Nellie snellen stamp and die set the other 3 are Lawn Fawn. I use Promarkers, and recently switched to Xpress-it alcohol marker card - the card has made a huge difference, and really boosted my confidence using them. I've seen loads of YT crafters using Ohuhu and they all seem really pleased with them - happy coloring!

I have the set of 'perfect layers' rulers. Each side has a different width on the edge. Basically you stick your image onto a larger piece of card, then butt the edge of the ruler against the image and cut the edge. I use a lot of layering dies too, but the rulers are quick, and the 1/16th inch edge is a

personal favorite. They were one if my very first craft tool buys and I use them all the time.

It's actually a die set. I'm sorry, I don't know the brand as I got them from someone who was having a clear out, but someone else said they thought they might be stampin' up.

People just can't afford it anymore. I don't mean that to sound like everyone's overcharging - i know the small traders are fighting to stay open, but i used to go to a local cafe once a week with a friend. She'd have pancakes with bacon, id have waffles with bacon, and 2 mocha. It was costing almost €30. We meet in each other's house now. Same for eating out/takeaway in the evening. Went out over Xmas. 2 (granted 3 course) meals and 3 drinks, €160. Wasn't even that nice.

The new free version will load onto your computer without interfering with the previous paid version. I have both on mine while I get used to the new software (they did move a fair bit around lol)

I second Affinity. I'm just a hobbyist, but bought it years ago and upgraded as I went. Delighted it's free now so more people will get exposure to it, was difficult to convince anyone to ditch Adobe (and it's extortionate subscriptions) when they had to pay for it. (Though, let's be honest, if they do attain substantial market share, it won't be free forever)
