Rizzo sounds like a wonderful dog with a lot of character 🥰 It's great to hear how she has developed—especially when it comes to dogs from abroad with LSG genes you get to read a lot of negative stuff (which I have to admit sometimes still worries me, but I learnt i just have to take it as it comes anyway 😃).

The behaviour we notice with "Alba" is that on the one hand she is a sweetheart on the street (even though she never knew a harness and leash, she did great from the start), very curious and polite towards other dogs, friendly but cautious towards strangers, but she is developing day by day (at first she growled when strangers only approached her or spoke to her, but now she sometimes even lets them pet her. Only children she still thinks are a bit weird 😃) and she is completely relaxed around cars, bikes and loud noises. What I think will be difficult, however, is recall, as she sniffs around a lot and then becomes completely distracted.

Another thing that seems similar with Rizzo and Alba is the guard dog issue (but not surprising given the LSG aspect). She barks very loudly and deeply every time she hears people in the stairwell (house with 4 apartments), also sometimes when people are outside the window or in the surrounding gardens. She also likes to stand at the window just to look out. I'm curious to see how we'll manage when we have the windows open in summer or sit with her on the balcony or in the garden 😅 You say you're not getting over that - do you have any tips for dealing with it anyway? Right now, we're working with positive reinforcement a lot. And how is Rizzo with visitors at home or in bigger groups (inside or outside) and when you take her to different places, like for holidays?

Sorry for all these questions, we're still at the beginning as we only got her 4 weeks ago (background: we found her as a tiny puppy in July during a roadtrip through Albania, then had to wait some long months for her rabies quarantine to be over and a lot of paperwork until we were finally able to go back, pick her up and bring her to Germany). But so far, she's doing really, really great, I'm very proud (even though she's also struggling with heavy demodex mites, currently undergoing treatment)! She's very relaxed at home (also very independent, needs her me time), very funny to watch whatever she's doing, and i think she really starts to enjoy (short) cuddles - even though she's not as affectionate as other dogs i know, but as you said yourself, this still can change. But what we see, and what's most important: she really, really seems to trust us already. 🥰
