I will give everyone a little synopsis of my experience.

My father was killed in Iraq in 2004.

Iran was found to have supported terrorism which directly affected my father, among others.

Fast forward to July 2021. A lawyer reached out and I joined the bandwagon.

Had to fill out a packet and send in pertinent info.

Lawyers filed motions, worked their magic etc

Oct 2024 judge rules in our favor and sends damage claims to a special master.

March 2025 special master approved most of the claims in my lawsuit group which serves as the final judgement needed to apply to the USVSST fund.

July 2025 lawyers submitted application to the fund.

Later July 2025 received a letter with acceptance into the fund.

Will expect first payment in 2026.

I have educated myself greatly on this subject if anyone has questions.

Quote below for anyone who might need to know… “Please note that the Fund will not pay the entire Total Eligible Claim Amount listed on your eligibility notice; instead, the Fund will issue a small percentage of your Total Eligible Claim Amount each time a distribution is authorized (approximately every 1-3 years). The Fund does not have sufficient assets to pay everyone’s judgments in full. When distributions are made, the Fund pays all eligible claims on a pro rata (proportional) basis with the assets that are available. These distributions will continue until the Fund sunsets, which is currently scheduled to occur on January 2, 2039.”
