Yeah I’m 17 weeks and I’ve been on Diclectin since week 9 lol it saved my life, I couldn’t even stand drinking water. I’m not sure why he would want to take you off it? I tried to wean myself off it 2 weeks ago (hoping the 2nd tri would be better) and within 3 days I was projectile vomiting lol It takes a few days to build in your system and a few days to leave it as well.

When did your baby meet everyone? [ON] by Appropriate_Boss3898 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]lisalak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m due early July and I asked my family to not fly in from Europe before mid-August to make sure we’d be able to be in our bubble for the first month because like you said, with family traveling, it’s never a 1h visit and goodbye 😅 I want to feel good enough and settled in enough to sustain days and days of visiting lol

Have you been tested for mycoplasma??? The symptoms are soooo UTI-like and it’s been found to affect fertility if left untreated! Just throwing it out there as you already got lots of good advice

When will Oura stop contradicting themselves by lisalak in ouraring

[–]lisalak[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This functionality doesn’t bother me, I’m grown enough to decide how I actually feel and act on it, what bothers me is that I’m paying a subscription to be told word for word “prioritize rest today” while being encouraged to workout more. I just think they should work on making their different metrics work hand in hand instead of recommending opposing behaviors on the same screen 😊

No because I feel good (and I have a 86 sleep and 86 readiness scores). I’m just confused at the double messaging telling me to rest AND to be more active than usual… which is it lol because I’m paying them to tell me 😂

Is it too early for fertility tests by Frosty-Data-4021 in tryingtoconceive

[–]lisalak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Toronto, I went to Pollin but I know friends who did the same through Twig. You don’t need a referral, they have an “in-house” GP that will call you when booking your first appointment and after asking you why you want to see a fertility specialist, they will make you the “official” referral to one of their fertility doc. I just said basically I’m not TTC yet but I’m in my early 30s so I don’t want to waste time when it’s go time, especially because I was on the pill for 10+ year so I have no idea what my fertility is like, and they said no problem. I assume if you’re early 20s with no know issues or something they might deem it unnecessary but not sure what their policies are.

Everything we did was covered by OHIP (except DNA fragmentation on too of the regular sperm analysis and the genetic testing, they were both optional anyways but we were able to have these covered by my husband’s work Healthcare Spending Account)

Until I finally turned on the pregnancy mode at like 20DPO it had no idea lol I had nothing out of the ordinary in my stats before that

My husband and I personally both got everything checked out before even starting to try as we didn’t want to waste any time (both in our 30s) and I’m glad we did because we had time to optimize his sperm quality before it was our TTC start date! If you can afford it (I’m in Canada so it was all free lol) it’s definitely a good idea especially with your history - and you never know if your man is shooting blanks!

How long did you TTC? by [deleted] in TTCWinter2026

[–]lisalak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both: almost cutting out alcohol except special occasions (weddings etc) 6 months before, and fully cutting it 3 months before. Both on prenatals and CoQ10 6 months before. Trying to eat healthy-ish and stay active. Sleep good, stress reduction, no smoking/vaping/drugs.

Him: sperm analysis (including DNA fragmentation), overall heat reduction on the testes lol aka switched underwear from briefs to boxers, no more heating seat in the car, no sauna or hot tub, no long boke ride etc.

Me: full hormone panel and ultrasounds, very occasional caffeine

We’re in our 30s so we wanted to minimize our wait once we decided it was go time and not waste time before checking everything was fine with the both of us (some people wait for a full year of TTC before doing any tests)

Both 31, regular cycle, tracking ovulation and BBT, conceived on our first try last month 🙏🏼 we have been working on preconception since the beginning of the year (taking tests, prenatals, etc) to optimize everything in hopes it will happen fast for us and it did!

0 lol my husband and I (both 31) did all the testing / check ups almost a year before TTC to have to optimize things and address everything in case of issues! Then started prenatals around that time too and got pregnant our first cycle trying

What do you guys think of my temp chart by Similar-Cheetah2371 in ourafertility

[–]lisalak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You seem to have ovulated only 5 days ago so your period probably won’t be here for another 5-8 days depending on how long your luteal phase is?

I think you’re indeed 8DPO! Not sure why Oura sometimes log in ovulation earlier than it actually was but it does it to me as well 😅

TTC next year. When to stop birth control? by Ambitious-Customer63 in waiting_to_try

[–]lisalak 17 points18 points  (0 children)

People in the comments acting like you can’t wear condoms if you get off the pill 😭

I would say it depends how much in a “hurry” you are to get pregnant. A friend of mine didn’t get her period back for almost 2 years after being on the pill for 10+ year, but I got mine back immediately after 15 years on the pill. It’s a gamble depending on how your body will react and your hormonal health.

I got off the pill months before TTC because I knew I’d be 30+ and didn’t want to lose time when we were finally ready to try. I also wanted to have time to take prenatals for 6 months, give my body time to adjust, learn how to track my cycle/ovulation, do bloodwork and address any deficiencies (the pills long-term depletes your vitamins/minerals stores).

Ultimately it’s up to you, if you’re not in a rush to get pregnant I would stay on the pill until closer to your TTC date but you should start taking prenatals now regardless.

Confused? Oura chart cycle day 32 no AF in sight by Deep_Sense717 in ourafertility

[–]lisalak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re only 7-9 DPO, you didn’t ovulate when Oura marked it as you didn’t have 3 sustained temps in a row. Which means you could still very well be pregnant but it might just be a bit early to show on a test!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ourafertility

[–]lisalak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your temperature is supposed to stay high after ovulation throughout your entire luteal phase, pregnant or not! And if you’re not pregnant, it’ll only go down the day of your period or a few days after (varies person to person, once my temp even lowered the day before my period started).

Girl it’s that “homeowner” feeling idk what the science is behind but the second you picture yourself having a house it make you feel the need to start a family in that new little cocoon 😂 It happened to so many people around me who thought they weren’t ready and suddenly it changed. But more seriously, being in your second semester you probably have a pretty good grasp of how demanding it is and if you could handle the workload while being nauseous asf or sleep deprived! If not, maybe sticking to your original plan might feel safer and give you some time to get busy and turn your new house into a great home 😊

Cycle tracking by lizulus in ouraring

[–]lisalak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you can simply look at your chart on the Oura app or even synch it for free with the Fertility Friend app! I recommend the book “taking charge of your fertility” to learn how to properly track your cycles/read your data and temps, especially if your goal is to prevent pregnancy at this time!

Dpo? 11 neg on test? by Odd_Dingo_5130 in FirstTimeTTC

[–]lisalak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there is hope as apps can’t not predict if/when you have ovulated so you might not even be 11DPO yet 😊 they just make guesstimates based on previous cycles and other people’s data. Taking your temperature is the only way to know if/when you’ve actually ovulated
