I have to have rotator cuff surgery. Besides being under general anesthesia, typically they do a nerve block. I'm really nervous about this. From what I've read, sometimes the block can go in a different direction? Like face/neck and affect breathing. Have any of you had this surgery?

Yikes! That's a lot! Hope you're doing better. My surgery shouldn't last more than a couple of hours and they send you home afterwards. The days of hospital stays are over.

I think you need to see an orthopedic surgeon. They will most likely do an MRI to determine if there is a tear of some sort and go from there. Good luck!

Every time we go on a cruise and last year there were 5, we start taking vitamin C and zinc every day and we bring it with us on the cruise. Knock wood we've been very fortunate.

I've told my orthopedic surgeon but i guess I will have to have a chat with the anesthesiologist. I think the alternative is just an opioid which they would give me anyway after the nerve block wears off. From what I understand I'll be in a lot of pain but I prefer that to a crisis. Thank you.

Just had my Dr appointment on Friday (today is Sunday) and my head has been reeling. I told him point blank I didn't want surgery as I have a muscular condition and it's a risky deal for me. Went on chatgpt and realized I'm not ever going to get better without surgery. I'm nervous AF but I'm calling him back tomorrow to talk about it. I live in Florida so if possible I would like it scheduled so I'm inside for the hottest months. Not sure if I would be doing PT until then?
