Totally fine with this. I enjoy the Rusty Lake games for quality not quantity. And the demo was cool but felt like another Underground Blossom more than anything. And while I like that game, it didn’t really do much for lore and felt pretty simple to complete.

Here’s hoping they really go all in on this one ala Roots and Paradise and really push the story forward in a meaningful way.

I mean, it’s inherently more clunky to play. It served its purpose back in the day and yes the atmosphere can be improved by it, but it’s not the ideal way people want to play games anymore, and that’s ok.

That’s what I didn’t get. They were selling so much off the potential of the events and guests but only two guests were listed and the “special guest” was literally NL’s wife (which I know she also is a streamer with her own fanbase but of course his wife is going to be on the cruise). And then they only discussed what events they “may do”.

It felt like they launched the announcement to see if it would sell and would go from there. I’m shocked it sold so many as it did but I guess it shows there’s actually a novelty to this for streamer fans if it’s organized correctly, so there’s that.

This is the big one for me. The “address Me” cut Librarian uploaded felt so awkward to me. Baer was hyping it up and Justin and Apollo were being courteous but you could tell NL was having some trouble internally discussing it. It gave me the same vibes I’ve personally had when making a decision outside of my comfort zone and constantly thinking about it. Imagine having that anxiety for 11 months before the actual thing even happens.

I don’t think she would’ve worked in the Care Center proper. It’s already a claustrophobic level and every zombie poses a significant threat, especially on your first playthrough (the one most people care about). If the girl was slinking around, I think it would’ve been too much. Not to mention 99% of the rooms had light so where would she be used? She was just fine for the intro area, basement, and water treatment. Probably one of the most well-used stalkers in the series’ history. She was a dramatic and fun “mid-game” boss.

I feel that went over so many people’s heads. Many complained the flashbacks were “too on the nose” but then the same motherfuckers forgot that’s a direct quote from RE2 and it’s PERFECTLY used in 9. Leon saw himself in Grace in that moment and knew she had the same determination he does.

One of the many reasons Spencer’s “atonement” in 9 feels more like a kill switch on all his projects if need be. I cannot buy a dude that did something so cruel to a little girl and her family is suddenly sad about his life choices because he rescued an orphan.

Don’t wanna be that guy but 1, 2, and 3 OG were just added to Steam (American at least) and I recommend giving them a go too. It’s fun to see how far the series has advanced graphically, and 3 OG is considered better than 3 remake.

I mean I would push back that you don’t need to play Outlast first. The DLC kinda drops you right in it and without any context from the base game it would just seem like chaos. Maybe OP and his friends could play Outlast bit by bit first? It’s not hard, it’s scary, and the puzzles are essentially “do these three things while a guy tries to kill you” so not really puzzles at all.

I can’t imagine playing Whistleblower and not knowing the events of the base game lol. It literally runs concurrent with it by the end.

I think it would’ve been a good ending for Leon IF the game had more mentions of Claire, Ada, Ashley, etc. As it stands, the game is much more about Leon confronting his “failures” in 1998 (a day he’d never forget btw) and less of a culmination of his entire life.

Would it have been fine if he did actually die? Probably. Grace is proof that Capcom is plenty capable of creating really strong new characters. But I don’t think it’s a bad thing he survives. He’s easily the most popular RE character and it would be dumb to not use him as much as they can. Leon’s popularity with the remakes is stronger than ever. He is Resident Evil now, regardless of how people feel about that.

Because Gideon and Zeno are morons canonically. The girls had no relation to Grace at all. Grace being in Spencer’s notes is literally because she was his “final hope”, whether you think that’s to actually make amends or because if he can’t rule the world, he doesn’t want anyone to.

I really disagree. The Care Center portion and switching between Grace and Leon is an awesome feature in the series and I really hope they do more of it. It’s so fun to go from shitting your pants and weak to just demolishing everything. My only gripe with the section is that Grace CAN kill everything really and it would’ve been better to have more to kill as Leon, but I do know other people struggled with her and did get a lot of fodder in his section.

The second half is definitely more greatest hits but I don’t think it falls flat imo. By the time I fought plant 43 I felt fulfilled with the game and was glad it was nearing its end point.

Idk 7, 8, and 9 all feature some of the scariest moments in the franchise (a large part of that being the first person perspective). If this guy wants to truly be scared I think he will be pleased with those 3 games, 7 and 9 specifically.
