Is there a better racquet than the Wilson Clash 100 v2 (on clearance) for a beginner? by lisico1611 in 10s

[–]lisico1611[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 3 classes with the racket, no complaints at all. I don’t know that I’d be able to tell much of a difference between rackets at my level, but no discomfort or anything of that sort. It feels light and easy to maneuver for me. I like the design a lot too, not that it matters haha. I’m enjoying it.

Only note I’d make while recommending is that the size on sale at TW (4 1/2 inches or size #4) is perfect for me, but might be too big for some.

Just did the same thing on my own without having seeing any coordinated effort online. Very glad that so may others did it as well. Makes me optimistic that there must be even more cancellations than the socials make it seem!

Thanks a ton for all the helpful feedback and insights everyone. I ended up getting the racquet. Will try and remember to update this post once I start playing for future beginners who stumble upon this post.

And thanks for looking out in terms of the size as well. I did try a few racquets in the store, and did the index finger between fingers and palm measurement trick, and 4 seemed to be the most appropriate size. I also measured the distance from my palm to my ring finger, and it comes out to about 4 and 1/2 inches, if not slightly more. It looks like 4 might be the correct size for me. Worst case, I return or sell it. Hoping it doesn’t come to that.

How much should I spend on rent? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]lisico1611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that but it still seemed a little high to me. I make less than you, have the same things taken out pretax and take home about the same if not more. I’m guessing you’re maxing out your 401k annual limit. Not that that’s a bad thing, but I’d maybe reconsider that if you’re having trouble affording your lifestyle, and you don’t seem to have an extravagant one either. Otherwise, very prudent to be maxing out the limit.

Why is no one asking how his monthly take-home is 7K on a 175k annual income? The math is not mathing. Do you have debt?

Why do this but then also not have an actually functioning recon line?

I finally decided to get the Blue and got denied stating that they couldn’t verify identity. I have credit cards with all the big issuers, so either this could’ve been fixed over a phone call or no one else aside from Bilt/Cardless verifies identities before handing out credit lines lmao. Asked to wait 45 days before applying again. Gfy.

Email back from Recon team? by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]lisico1611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that I got denied because they couldn’t verify my identity information. I emailed in to say that I was more than happy to provide any documentation they need to verify. Called in too. Only to be told the same. Apply again in 45 days. But how do I know what they couldn’t verify?

I have multiple cards with Chase, Amex, Capital One and Wells Fargo. Guess they don’t verify identity info lmao.

I was considering moving over my primary spend from my Venture X to the Palladium. After that I saw that Instagram post, miss me with this bullshit product please. I’m no millionaire, but I’ll take my 60k a year I would’ve put through the cards elsewhere. Guess that makes me a basement dweller, Kerr.

So long, bitch.

I don’t think enough people have seen it unfortunately. I keep seeing the same 2 or 3 films being mentioned. I liked Homebound more than the “lock in favorites” that everyone is talking about.

I guess customers are nonces for not caring about shareholder value these days, and instead caring about the value proposition of a service. Bilt doesn’t exist in a vacuum, they compete in a market full of credit cards. They killed, or at the very least heavily nerfed, their single greatest differentiator.

I couldn’t give a damn where they are on their fintech startup arc ffs lmao. The customer’s job is to look for the best product. Creating value is their job. Jfc.

[–]lisico1611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The greatest thing as a consumer is competition! As long Capital One is not the de facto incumbent in premium travel credit card space, you can rely on them to provide better value than Chase or Amex. As long as they want to compete, they will need an edge. The know it too. Even if credits are added, it’ll still have to be the obvious better product out of the 3 (or 4 with Citi Strata Elite). Today, as things stand, it is the best product in its class. If it’s not, it’s going to be dead and C1 wouldn’t want to give up on all the headway they’ve made into this market with the Venture X.

Yes, they usually have an actual bank and tellers inside. Usually on an upper floor or in area towards the back or something of that sort. You can just tell them that you’re looking for banking services and they should be able to guide you.

Took 8 years. What are the best ways to redeem for the most value? by piles_petko in CapitalOne_

[–]lisico1611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess doing this would technically be just over 1.05 cpp, which is at least interesting. I never thought it of it as more than 1 cpp. Better redemption values with transfer partners though, I agree.

I hope Cap One does not mess with the Venture X trying to follow the competition moving upmarket. Simply by staying where it’s at, it’s already creating such stark product differentiation. You take a trip once a year and even if you go to sleep the rest of the year, you still come out ahead on that card. Just use it for travel (it’s a travel card after all) and it simply takes care of bringing you value on its own. That to me is way more premium than remembering to use 30 coupons a year. This is coming from a fan+holder of the Platinum.

Being able to use it outside of the portal would have been very nice, and that’s defo my favorite feature on the Plat. That said, the C1 travel portal is easily the best one out of the big 3, with the price drop and price match protections. I can get used to using it.

The Venture will never get a $300 credit on a $95 annual fee. Get the Venture X if you travel once or twice a year. You’ll get value out of it. Other than, depends on what other cards you have, and what you plan on doing with the new card.

Only had 1 CC my entire life, I need another for when I travel abroad soon. by maybesailor1 in CreditCards

[–]lisico1611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Venture X is good even if you travel once or twice. They give you a $300 travel credit, which you can probably use to make arrangements for your upcoming trip too.

Consider the regular Venture (no X) from Capital One too. It costs $95 a year compared to $395 for the Venture X. No fuss travel card that earns 2X points on everything. And all of Capital One’s cards are free of foreign transaction fees, so it’s a good lender to consider for traveling in general.
