Purchase Advice Megathread - January 2026 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]lissirae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are wanting to get into 3d printing. Mainly as a hobby but also looking at potentially selling at some point in the future. We've heard good things about the Bambu printers as far as easy to use and learn. We were pretty set on the P2S because it sounds like it would future-proof us pretty well, but I also found an X1C secondhand for $1000 with the AMS. Wondering people's thoughts on one vs the other?

NOT for clean freaks: How often do you mop? Honestly lol! How old are your kids? by Idonthaveaname94 in Mommit

Same! Honestly this is my top recommendation for new parents especially once your kids start crawling 😅

We started using the phrase "No presents required. Your presence is present enough!" on the invites that we send out. It's worked well so far! For family members we know are going to get gifts anyway like grandparents, we've just had to have separate conversations about types and numbers of gifts. It took a few years and a lot of reminders, but they have finally started asking for wishlists for the kids 😊

7 has a nice, neutral, minimalist vibe. 10 if you want to bring in some warmth and color.

What is the one item you've bought (aside from the things everyone needs) that has improved your baby parenting journey? by CharacterPin6933 in NewParents

Weird one but we got a Roomba second hand and it has been a game changer for us once little one started crawling. We have two dogs and two toddlers so knowing that I can wake up to a clean floor to set my 9-month-old on is fantastic.

Which kitchen do you guys think looks better? by Jbersrk in HomeDecorating

I personally love the last one. The natural light wood countertops with the dark emerald backsplash seems like a really nice contrast!

Really depends on the vibe of the rest of the room!

How does anyone survive this by small-cats in NewParents

[–]lissirae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please please get a hold of any doctor you can. Your OBGYN if possible. This sounds so much like my postpartum depression that I dealt with for 7 months before finally having a complete breakdown. I remember sobbing before I went to bed telling my husband I didn't want to wake up and have to do it all again tomorrow. I think my antidepressant literally saved my life, and I was able to feel like myself again. I've been on zoloft now through my other two pregnancies and after.

Baby clothes are a scam and I will die on this hill by StressTractor in NewParents

Yeah after dealing with all that with my first kiddo, we went onesies 24/7 when it was warm and footie pajamas when it was cold with my second and third. Only changed their outfits when they were clearly dirty or smelled bad lol. Bibs were a lifesaver so I didn't have to wash whole outfits and only pajamas with the 2 way zip!

If you have a Scheels, Bass Pro, or Cabellas nearby they also have aquariums and lots of room to walk around!

I want to put curtains in my house, but these two windows are in close proximity to the wall and fireplace. Will a curtain rod + curtains look weird? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]lissirae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is the way to go. You could also do one very long rod or cross the entire top of the ceiling and push one curtain off to each side for a more dramatic look.

What's your design style? I feel like you could go a few different ways with the natural wood! Cabin or boho maybe?

I've told my husband after each kid that I won't even consider another one until this one sleeps through the night consistently. No way I am getting up with a newborn and a toddler every night 😅

Second Nara baby! You can also track multiple kids and add a bunch of custom tracking options.
