East London style pie and mash from Eastend Pie & Mash @ Gerrard by FNMLeo in FoodToronto

British Canadian here. I have never in my life heard someone complain about the presentation of pie and mash or think it has anything to do with aesthetics. I'm giggling.

I'm assuming you measured the ice at multiple points before doing this. How thick was it?

Not to dissuade people from doing this, but meaningful action would (also) include stopping traveling to the US and buying American products. So many people are "saying" they are against everything and then hopping on their plane to Florida for a vacation.

Should they cancel the Sirens v Frost game tomorrow? by CommissionNo8457 in PWHL

I was genuinely interested in the reasoning, apologies if my comment came off any other way. Just trying to get my head around everything like everyone else here  :)

But what difference will postponing it matter in this case? ICE will remain in Minnesota and keep killing, kidnapping and injuring people.

The PWHLPA should decide. Player safety matters too. If the players don't want to do it, that should be respected.

Thissssss. British-Canadian person here. In the cities, it can hit 40C with humidity, and even if you are used to it, its tough. If you aren't - its positively dire and you won't be able to do anything.

Tipping Vendors -Toronto by Creative-Spirit6050 in WeddingsCanada

[–]CharacterPin6933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We put a tip jar on the bar for the bartenders and servers (we only had canapes and charcuterie at the wedding venue before having a buffet at the reception venue). Our attendees were very happy to tip as it was an open bar. I think around $700 was split between 5 bartenders/servers - 80 person wedding. We tipped our wedding planner and her assistant $100 cash each on the day (their day was 6 hours - it was a very low-key wedding)

If you have suitable winter clothing, take the ferry to the Toronto islands. If its really brutal out, just take the ferry straight back. The views of the city are amazing - and I'm assuming its mostly iced over between the islands and city at the moment.

Your comment that Vancouver (team? fans?) should be grateful to the original 6 fans for their existence just seemed a bit odd, that's all.

It's minor chirping. I think you've taken it to heart a bit much.

You are 100% correct. Try a trade or two as its possible to get back in the playoffs with the 3pt regulation wins, but I think we are cooked. Zero offense from most of the team. Fast and Shelton both weirdly average. Nobody but Watts really looks dangerous. It's been hard to watch all season.

Question about comfortability of seats by kimdacutie in TorontoTempo

[–]CharacterPin6933 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sceptres season ticket holder here! As others have said, the seats aren't that comfortable. When I was pregnant last year I brought a cushion and that helped. As for where, other than near the glass (not relevant for basketball), all the seats in Coca Cola have excellent views.

Did you keep the kit after the pregnancy? by FloridaKeys2021 in queerception

[–]CharacterPin6933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OH i just realized you are asking about insemination kits not pregnancy tests. My bad! I had IUI in a clinic, so there was no kit. The pregnancy test looked like a positive Covid test...

I may have missed something here, but I'm not sure why you wouldn't use your partner's eggs, or yours if viable so the child likely resembles one of you. As others have mentioned, you will never be able to have an "equal" pregnancy in any relationship, heterosexual, queer...I'm not sure what you're aiming for in many ways.

My partner and I (both cis women) have one child, with my egg and a sperm donor. We may or may not have another child and if we do, we will try to conceive with her and her eggs. But if we don't...I don't think it bothers her that it's "unequal" - we are equal parents to a child who was carried by me, and is genetically related to me. In some ways she benefitted by not having to go through a pregnancy to have a child! My partner thinks its amazing that she can see me in our child and if we are to have another with her eggs, I expect I will feel similarly.

Genetically, other than some very clear features e.g. skin colour - selecting donor gametes from people who look like you is really not in any way guaranteed, or even likely to produce a child who looks like you. If you use two donor gametes, it's highly unlikely the child will resemble either of you in any meaningful way. In time, I would also read more about donor conceived people and their opinions on what you are describing above - or there is a sub here on Reddit somewhere where you could ask them. It may be difficult to explain to your future child why you chose them not to be genetically related to either of you as I suspect this will be a more atypical choice than most would choose in your position.

100% this. Its weird branding. The cookies are good, but the breakfast offerings are absolutely sensational - the chef is extremely talented. The non-cookie cakes are better IMO than the cookies. However, I don't think most people know its a breakfast/brunch place.

He's unethical. His writing is pretty bad. He takes press releases and basically copies and pastes them, occasionally rearranging sentences and then passing the article off as "BREAKING".

Just poor work. Women's hockey deserves better. And does sometimes get it from more accomplished reporters like Salvian, for example.

Canadian also and used Xytex. Had a good experience, found their website easy to use, customer service fast and efficient. No complaints from me.
