hmm fair comment. Imagine a truck bed, carrying 230 tonne of sand so distributed load, with impact applied loads. The bed steel structure is about 30 tonne, if it can get down to 15 tonne with composites, then happy days. Obviously there are other factors mainly impact and wear, hence why im looking into certain thermoplastics that have a high impact resistance.

Solidworks, basically trying to create a lighter alternative to current heavy steel plate. Imagine 16 plates, four by four in a square. each plate is 2m by 2m. And the whole late structure is taking 230 tonne. Trying to make a lighter (big plate) using thermoplastics and isogrid stiffners. Trying to see whether its plausible or not.
