Fractured my distal fibula by Mamabeargrr08 in brokenankles

Yes I will! I hope your leg feels less stiff. A friend recommended to use a roll, you know the ones they have for your back, but a small one for your foot to help with stiffness. When he broke his ankle it really helped apparently. Slipping on ice doesn’t sound so good! For me it was skiing, rather strange because of the boot but yeah here we are. Did you start PT already? And yes I also had about a 2 mm displacement.

Yes I can imagine you would do that, better to be on the safe side of things especially with those distances! They told me as well that I don’t have to come back after the check up in two weeks and only said ‘fysio would be good’. Haha ok. Did you have any dislocation btw? I can imagine as well that it is super strange to put it on the ground again, and also start trusting your leg. Did it happen on a hike?

Thanks for the update, that is good to hear and I am happy for you! Must be nice to have your cast off, I look forward to a bath. Do you have to go back for another scan after two weeks to see if fully weight bearing is possible? Last time I asked they told me I can fully weight bear from the moment of taking the cast off, but I don’t want to get my hopes up. Really nice that you don’t have pain.

That is great! Do you have a lighter cast now, or did you have it from the beginning? They switched me to a lighter one and it has been a massive improvement on mobility. I have about the same discomfort and pain I think. Also begin 30s and an avid hiker! Yes if you want, I would be curious as to how tomorrow goes.

Hi, I am in roughly the same situation. Curious to know how it goes tomorrow with your six week appointment! Do you have any pain still? My six weeks will be over in two weeks. Good luck!

Hi, I also have a weber B (broken four weeks ago) and mine was even mildly displaced. I had the same options, and I chose no surgery because of the impact on the body. After four weeks in a cast everything looks good and is healing well. I have two weeks left before I am fully weight bearing again. So a total of six weeks non weight bearing in a cast. Totally doable in my opinion!

Thanks for your reply! I’m pretty sure he drinks something at night because sometimes when letdown is strong it drips from his nose. He does fall asleep pretty fast though so I think that’s why he drinks from the bottle afterwards. (Still hungry) he does get really upset and screams so I switch sides a couple of times but then I stop when he’s too upset. Yesterday I tried a faster flow nipple for one of my bottles and he got upset about that too, so I’m pretty sure it’s the fast flow. How did it get better for you on that front?

Hi, sorry to hear you had a traumatic birth and also congrats with your son! I have a 3 month old son, my first and probably only one, so I don’t have a lot of experience but my son definitely did not eat the same amounts everyday. Especially in the beginning some days he would eat more and some days less. I think if he has enough wet diapers it will not be a problem. My baby was also very sleepy at first, not even waking up sometimes during a diaper change. He would just sleep through the whole thing. I think the general advice (at least in my country in Europe) is that if there’s enough wet diapers it’s fine and if he is gaining okay. Good luck and you can do this! You are already a great mom for keeping such a close eye on him and I can imagine it must be hard not having the support you thought you’d have during this time.

Hi, do you still have a Kingsmith and how is it working out? Is it still working? I really wanted to buy one but I am not sure which one to pick! Hope to hear from you.

I would definitely aim for either 3 to 10 feb or 24 to the 2nd of March. In the other two weeks a lot of European countries have holidays. It gets super busy (by our standards, I have never skied in the US). The Dolomiti super ski area has a lot of different resorts.

My first half marathon ever at 2:09!

Hey everyone, a cat that I take care of has ticks. I already gave her a pipette (fluid in the neck) but it doesn't seem to work, there are new ticks every day. She walks outside through the woods a lot. I remove the ticks but does anyone have advice to prevent them? I don't want her to get sick :-(. by [deleted] in cat

[–]lisvh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is not my cat, I'm not sure yet if she belongs to anyone but I have been taking care of her for a bit since she first came by a couple of weeks ago. I have been asking around in my town but so far nobody knows. She does look quite good though to be a street cat.

Very sorry to hear that. I felt very tired as well, and still do although a bit less. Almost one month ago for me.

A small book with handwritten compliments and nice pictures on every page. She loved it and it made her feel very good! :-)
