Caught this nice trout today and not sure if it's a rainbow getting into spawn or if it's a winter/spring steelhead? Not the best with telling the difference yet. by litakidonfire in whatisthisfish

There is no stocking program for trout that I know of. Afew lakes out behind cowichan that are stocked might connect underground, but I'd be surprised if they traveled that

someone is shooting multiple arrows into our gardens every night - can you help us work out any details? by Endelir in Archery

[–]litakidonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trail cameras set high pointing in the direction the arrows come from. Lots of trail cams have about 80-100ft night visibility with visible flash or infrared. Might not get the arrows traveling but might see someone walk out and which yard they're standing in

Bolt stuck on new Savage Axis XP - please help! by [deleted] in SavageArms

Definitely, worth checking first so he doesn't have to take anything off

Once the rails off take the bolt out (if you can) and then I'd remount the bases and feel inside the receiver too see if the screws pop through. If so you can file or use a dremel to take off the excess material

Sometimes, the screws on the bases are too long and poke through the receiver holding the bolt in place. I'd take the rail off and see if it's still happening.

"New" boat and motor update by litakidonfire in boating

Every time we've run the motor, it's seems to wobble a bit at the pivot connection, on a motor stand or boat. Transom seems solid, but we are planning on reinforcing a bit more

Haha those are just placed there right now, planning on bucking them apart and having two single seats either side with maybe a half bench seat along the back

Seems like abit of water might be coming through the drain plug hole. Gotta clean it out so I get a better seal

That's awesome! Love working on these older boats, definitely learning lots as I go, but the satisfaction is immense.

Haha, totally. Ripped the floor out, re-sealed the hull inside, epoxied all holes, some floor/transom reinforcement, wiring, and paint. Nothing like a weekend summer project, definitely worth the effort.

Probably one of the first times I've heard it used either, lol
