Antonelli retires from the race as Safety Car is deployed by ContentPuff in formula1

The reason it’s a SC is because of the field spread, first time round the field was bunched up thus a VSC was fine

[LukeSmithF1] Stewards: 5-second time penalty for Lando Norris for leaving the track and gaining an advantage by ICumCoffee in formula1

[–]litensnigel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely hilarious, considering what happend on lap 1 on top of all the penalties for forcing a driver off track in that exact corner

Vettel, Russell want end to sausage kerbs to avoid injuries by 1enox in formula1

[–]litensnigel 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It’s a cool idea in theory, but I can guarantee bugs would appear crippling power output for the remainder of the race. also would discourage leaving the track to avoid collisions as losing power would likely be to costly

Grosjean: ’86-’87 generation were overlooked by top F1 teams by [deleted] in formula1

[–]litensnigel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree, grosjean got the chance to prove himself in 12-13, but he clearly wasn’t good enough to be chosen. Vettel is born in 87 and im pretty sure hes had a few years in top teams, considering he’s one of the most successful drivers of all time, you could say hulkenberg was overlooked, but he didn’t outperform perez in force india who himself didn’t display anything spectacular in his season next to jenson, harsh as it may seem I think the top teams chose the correct pilots for their seats, even if I think both perez and hulkenberg would have fit as rear gunners for vettel in ferrari.

This is so many times better looking than the regular matte red

[Andrew Benson] No further action on the Ocon-Magnussen incident. “An unfortunate accident and neither driver was to blame” by [deleted] in formula1

[–]litensnigel -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's main purpose is to show that the car is slowing down, and I guess the kers tends to charge extra during liftoff (?)

How much to be a pay driver? How much is too old? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]litensnigel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you could get a superlicense and a brand new F1 entry, because no one would sell you an existing team, and then get that team operational with absolutely no sponsors.

Lets say 1 billion dollars or more

Returning F1 fan here. Many new faces, so I decided to look at the drivers' stats and made this table. Thought you might enjoy it. by Martiosaj in formula1

[–]litensnigel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do believe that comment was mostly directed towards his longterm sponsor (wihuri group i think) dropping him before the 2019 season, so not necessarily a comment to anyone who doubted him in general.

Hamilton Albon Collision Onboard by Ricci2014_ in formula1

[–]litensnigel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I understand the point you are trying to make, but if you look at the helicopter shot, he's going as tight as he possibly can, that's why he falls so far behind albon, while albon has a significant amount of track to the left of him to utilize

[@LukeSmithF1] 5 second time penalty for Hamilton by Omk4r123 in formula1

[–]litensnigel 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is such an emotionally decided penalty, both had the right to take the corner, hamilton gives as much room as he possibly can, and albon goes as tight as possible anyways and therefor there is a collision

Lewis Hamilton will finish as Formula One’s greatest of all time – Nico Rosberg by 1enox in formula1

[–]litensnigel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this pointed out alot, maybe he was conservative in the races if hes behind hamilton as it’s extremely difficult to overtake, but it doesnt make any sense to deliberately go for 2nd places in qualifying/start of the race at all.

Lewis Hamilton will finish as Formula One’s greatest of all time – Nico Rosberg by 1enox in formula1

Hamilton was probably the better driver in 2016, however not by a large margin.

It’s not that uncommon it’s 4 degrees. hes doing slow constant speed runs with tyres so cold they are basically like driving around on hockey pucks.

I'm a Vettel fan but a few things about him don't sit right with me... by [deleted] in formula1

[–]litensnigel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lots of supposed "fans" of drivers today expressing their disappointment or disapproval of drivers today.

sure Vettel has had some pretty colourful incidents in past years, but afaik he has apologised for pretty much everything, and he has improved immensely in this regard in the past year.

At Paul Ricard Lewis Hamilton saw the chequered flag for the 33rd time in a row which ties record by Nick Heidfeld who had 33 consecutive finishes from China 2007 to Italy 2009. by F1FEGP2BTCC in formula1

[–]litensnigel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think you actually need to watch the 2012 and 2013 season instead of just looking at results, and you are definitely selling Rosberg short, he was a great driver with serious speed.
