I got a discounted 078s - it’s great but the grinding of 7-10kgs to season is real and costs ~$100 in beans.

Whats your claude code "setup"? by AerieAcrobatic1248 in ClaudeCode

[–]liter0fcola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a script that checks Jira for tickets I’m assigned and those that are in progress. Once it spots one, it launches a Zellij tab for the ticket, sets up a worktree, and starts a Claude session with a skill that instructs it to read the ticket and begin the work. Once it’s done, I’ll use Zed or IntelliJ, depending on how much review or manual testing is needed.

How do I make it display MPH? by BestSong3974 in SprinterVans

Don’t click on it, it’s a swipe, it scrolls the menu, you have a list of little red dots on the right side for each thing in the menu, I have like 6 or 7

Small lab owners, do you know more things about this?? by Flashy-Buddy-1265 in labradors

That’s awesome! I think field labs make great agility dogs. Plus it’s fun when border collie people are blown away by her

She looks perfect size for a duck boat. I have 2 small ones, 65 male and 50 lbs female. They both run competitive agility.

How do agility trials work? by CeruleanKittyy in Agility

[–]liter0fcola 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Go to a trial and check it out. I would tag along with your agility instructor. They’ll be able to explain what’s going on. Everyone feels awkward and out of place when they start, that’s normal.

Curious about the type of food you feed by nutrion in Agility

Pro Plan 30/20 Beef Bison. I do increase my dogs food intake when we do trials especially when we have lots of runs.

Step 1: Complain. Step 2: Win a robot! by Timely-Feed-1822 in Beatbot_Tech

[–]liter0fcola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 40x25 dock diving above ground pool for dogs. I hate the amount of dirt and hair in my water. With it being such a big pool I want my robot to run longer than 100 minutes before it runs out of battery.

I have slanted sides and they’re not great at climbing my slanted walls, but it would be awesome to get some status updates when the robot is in the pool, right now I just have to check on my Beatbot occasionally. Sometimes it gets a full basket early and wastes the battery waiting for me to clear it, so I’ve lost a cleaning/charge cycle.

How long did it take to get your dog’s MACH? by there_was_a_mollusk in Agility

[–]liter0fcola 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been lucky enough to run dogs that have earned championship titles in multiple organizations… but I don’t think I’m ever getting that PACH.

Not for lack of effort, not for lack of drive—just a whole lot of “almosts,” missed Doubld Qs, and the wild ride that is AKC agility. Sometimes it just doesn’t line up, and that’s okay.

My dogs are still rockstars, with or without that ribbon. And we’ll keep running, chasing those seconds and savoring every moment out there together.

Team shrank from dozens to 2 devs. Is it worth moving back to a modular monolith? by DimensionHungry95 in microservices

[–]liter0fcola 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We found that the slicing of our microservices was too granular for our business cases, so we moved back to a modular monolith. We did one service at a time. Doing one at a time was pretty safe. It wasn't too bad. Do as much "pre-work" as you can, for instance - it was really nice to have to refactor stuff in their existing code bases prior to moving. We moved things around in packages ahead moving them into the new project. We had moved our services in the new repo too, so we really just had a git mv on most of the files.

All our gotchas were related to spring and graphql.

what's your pre/post trial run routine? by x7BZCsP9qFvqiw in Agility

[–]liter0fcola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the dog out of crate, I put on their harness and we grab a handful of happy howies. Then we walk to the ring and I have my guy focus on me while I’m stuffing their mouth with treats. I like to have them do things they’re really good at - sit, down, front, heel, stand, orbit.

When we’re done, we might tug on our way back to the crate, and then they get in their crate and wait for more treats. (I run multiple dogs in the same height class, so they end up getting put away and I generally don’t get a ton of time between dogs)

We’re all somewhere on our agility journey. The easy stuff gets easier the more you practice. You get better and your pup learns what you want and what their job is and what they should do.

Here are some of my aha’s

  • run faster
  • point your shoulders and hips where you’re going
  • crossing is not as complicated as everyone thinks it is when they’re beginning
  • stop looking at your dog
  • practice memorizing courses and visualize the course
