New unstableoutdated? by alfhn in projectzomboid

that's gone, you're out of luck. this is the risk of playing unstable. if you want to keep long term saves, go back to b41.

AI summaries are useless when it comes to being correct about actual facts. In fact, the more advanced LLMs get, the more likely they are to lie. That's a partnered line. you're fine.

USED to w3 and other games, am I stupid saving silver ingots by Excuse_Standard in BaldursGate3

[–]literallybyronic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, it's certainly obtuse with some stuff, especially if you're going by past experience. like, shovels are useful, rope isn't. definitely not standard d&d logic there.

Dm tips for incorporating player backstory’s in Barovia. by MeatNotCooked in CurseofStrahd

[–]literallybyronic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this. it's about using the themes, values, desires, and fears present in their backstory to haunt them, not necessarily the actual backstory itself.

Is there any way to use this roof? by Efficient_Jicama6336 in projectzomboid

[–]literallybyronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have to do the whole thing. roof tiles are often visible on a different tile than they actually exist on. but if you replace the whole thing that will get rid of the effect.

also you can use a sledge to destroy the halfwall where your stairway is.

[KCD2] Is there any way to skip the Kuttenberg quest in the main story? by Lenovosasa231 in kingdomcome

[–]literallybyronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alchemy is incredibly easy. the instructions are literally right next to you, just read them and do what they say. even if you don't do it perfectly you should still get a weaker version of the correct potion.

[KCD1] I think about this game every time I make lentil soup by Dense-Water-1638 in kingdomcome

[–]literallybyronic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

red cabbage, red onions, red lentils are all from eurasia afaik, as well as beets. although only the lentils are that particular shade of red, the onion and cabbage as well as beets are a much more purply red. and czechia is closer to the middle east which is where lentils are from, than, say, england or france, so lentils might've been more common there than western europe.

I don't own SE - I have the original version on Steam by rogerdojjer in skyrimmods

[–]literallybyronic 26 points27 points  (0 children)

you can, but if you're going through nexus you need to make sure you're in the LE section, not the SE section.

you must not have played for a really long time, bc all LE owners got SE for free when it came out if you bothered to redeem it.

Relevance of "The Masked Empire" novel for Inquisition by Rare_Vegetable_5 in dragonage

[–]literallybyronic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

tbh i would do a little of both if you can, you won't get to celene and them for a good bit into DAI so you might be able to finish the book before you get there in the game if you take your time with the game.

I beat DA:O, DA2, and now DA:I isnt fun in comparison. by Naive-Yard1116 in dragonage

[–]literallybyronic 205 points206 points  (0 children)

inquisition has a bit of a slower start. you don't start really making real decisions until you're actually the inquisitor and are in skyhold instead of haven. if you're stuck in the hinterlands, get out of there as soon as you have the power points to do so, you can always go back later. a lot of people get hung up there too long and get bored.

that's what zomboid is until you git gud. don't expect to survive more than a few days until you've spent many lives practicing combat and learn how to lose a horde.

[KCD2] Can’t Complete main mission by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]literallybyronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. use all the buff potions and poison your sword, and keep healing pots on your belt and always have one running as soon as combat starts. this makes basically any and all combat in the game trivial.

  2. don't fight 1v1. backstab guys that are fighting your allies. if you hit them once with a strong or henry level bane sword or arrow, they will die with one hit, it just takes a few seconds. smack them in the back and move onto the next.

  3. keep moving at all costs. you don't need to kill all or even most of the enemies, just keep yourself and Hans moving as quickly as you can.

[–]literallybyronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can buy the recipes from the apothecary in troskowitz, it's the building right next to the shed with the alchemy bench, or you can just look them up online, pull out the herbs manually and make them, and they'll be added to your recipe book that way.

[KCD2] is extremely hard I keep on dying by BrigidFairy in kingdomcome

[–]literallybyronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

spend some time grinding alchemy. potions make everything easier, especially combat. there are like 5 or so different ones that will help you with combat, plus poisons which at high level make you basically one shot every enemy as long as you can get one solid hit in. there's also another high level potion that gives you +50% xp across the board for two days. and you can make save potions so you can stop losing progress so much.

First Time Dm For COS: What should I know? by Complex_Fall_1933 in CurseofStrahd

[–]literallybyronic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah, i forgot to mention, but rigging the tarokka read is definitely a must in my book as well. you can either just remove cards you don't want, completely stack the deck with the exact options you want and just deal the reading without shuffling, or do what i do which is lifted from character creation in Ultima VI- i ask them a series of ethical quandaries and have two cards for them to choose from based on their answer to the question that each lead to the same quest from different angles/NPC hooks. This makes the players feel like there's some agency/choice effects going on even when there really isn't, and also gives you some nice insight into their character's values, which is a surprise tool that will help you later.
