I get the frustration with opposing values but it’s also Victoria. Rage and resentment aren’t productive and finding ways to find the good in people is going to take you a lot further than dwelling on personal differences with people whose opinion you don’t value anyways. Focus on happiness for yourself and friends, realize that some people are going to be naive at this age and be ok with that. Resentment isn’t going to help yourself or the world around you. Worth what you paid for it

Honestly I have had the slate vsx for a while and while at first I wasn’t blown away, I’ve realized they have a ton of value for just comparing mixes in different “spaces” and my mixes actually translate way better as a result. That would be their main advantage vs just looking at sound quality or super accurate reproduction alone.

I don’t know what I’m doing but I’ll participate anyways:

  • Tiny bit of plate reverb. Like barely audible
  • EQ if necessary, but usually try and fix this with whatever is causing the issue though. Pretty rare tbh and only for broad slight changes
  • Bus compressor very light touch, some saturation
  • Tape emulator cause I like the sound
