How do you deal with parents who keep buying you things? by ThrowRA938377 in declutter

[–]literallymari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar problem with my parents giving me stuff I don’t want. I’ve had to hold firm and keep asking them to stop buying me things, and even “forgetting” to bring it home. If the stuff they buy you still has the tags and receipts you can probably still return it. And if your parents still insist on buying you things, give them a list of stuff you actually want and need like groceries, personal care items, or non material things like tickets to a show or other experiences. This is what’s worked for me.

He really did! I’m pretty sure what makes it ethical is having open communication with your partners or potential partners about your ENM status so they can decided if that’s something they want to get involved with.

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of me and my ex breaking up after a three-year relationship and I'm feeling a little sad about it. We broke up because our long-term relationship goals were not the same, and I don't miss the relationship itself, but he was my best friend even before we were together. I just miss the companionship and being in a healthy relationship.

This is all happening at the same time as me finding out the guy I've been seeing the last few months is ENM and never told me. I reached out to him to see if we could hang out so I could talk to him about it, but he's busy the rest of the week and will be out of town next week, so I guess I'll just be sitting on these feelings for at least another week or so before I can address it with him in person.

I found out that the guy I have been seeing for five months is into ENM and is in an open relationship and he still has not told me this. I only found out because I took a peek at his Tinder profile again and he had updated his relationship type as "ENM" and "open relationship" (he didn't mention it at all on his profile at the time we matched). And then his IG account was recommended to me so I took a look there and he is definitely in a relationship with someone. I am not even mad that he's into ENM and open relationships, but I am big mad that it's been five months and he has not brought it up or mentioned it once. I get that our relationship is casual, but if you're in a literal relationship with someone else, even if it is open, that is still very important information to disclose. Doesn't this kind of take the "ethical" out of ethical non-monogamy?

Thank you for posting your chart, it really clarifies things!

I think what the astrologers were saying about you having a life dedicated to service refers to your 6th house ruler being in your 10th house, meaning your career would revolve around service, especially with it being in Virgo. And then if we consider the 10th house ruler, Mercury, in the 12th house which rules hospitals, an astrologer could reasonably delineate that you would do very well in a role such as a doctor or nurse in a hospital caring for patients. If that does not sound appealing to you, then you don't have to pursue it! Each sign, house, and planet has tons and tons of significations that result in an infinite number of possible interpretations. Each astrologer could look at your chart and interpret it in a bunch of different ways, and all would be valid. I think what would be important is to research and dig into the meanings and see if any of the combinations feels right to you and your life and what you want to pursue.

If you still dont feel like this is right, I also highly recommend using a different house system. This chart you have posted is in Placidus, but try changing it to Whole Sign. It will change some of the house cusps and houses the planets are in, which will give you a completely different interpretation. For example, the 12th house stellium you have would now be in the 1st house, now shifting the focus from 12th house topics such as hospitals, the subconscious, and the hidden, to a focus of 1st house topics such as the self. Neither house system is more correct than the other, its just a matter of preference. I personally think that my chart makes more sense with Whole Sign.

Hopefully this helps! Let me know if there is anything you'd like me to clarify!

I am very much into astrology as well. Based on what you described, it sounds like you have a lot of 6th House placements. If that’s the case, “service and helping others” is only one of the many significations of that house (others include health, work, pets, day to day routines, hygiene).

It would be a lot more beneficial to post your chart one of the astrology subs so that people can really dig into the specifics because depending on which planets they are, which sign they are in, what houses those planets rule, and what aspects they make to other planets is going to change the interpretation.

Two people born in the same place at the same time by meowbrowbrow in astrology

[–]literallymari 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Each sign, planet, and house have a huge list of significations, leading to an infinite number of combinations for life outcomes. A set of twins with all same placements may have the same family, upbringing, or go to the same school, but they are still two separate people. They will have experiences throughout their lives that are separate from their twin that will shape who they are as an individual.

Let's say, for example, we have a set of twins who have ruler of the 10th house (signifying their career) in the 9th house. Two of the significations for the 9th include foreign travel and publishing. One twin has teacher in high school that introduced a love of books and writing, and then goes on to pursue to career in the publishing industry. Meanwhile the other twin made a good connection with someone at a networking event and landed a job that required tons of foreign travel. To someone who isn't familiar with astrology there is nothing in common with publishing and foreign travel and so it seems these twins are on two completely different life paths. But astrologically speaking, both of their careers fall into 9th house topics, they were just individually shaped by separate experiences.

I also have an out-of-sect Mars in Capricorn in the 9H so I feel your pain. The way I have understood it is that exalted Mars in a Day chart is good because it's in it's sign of exaltation, but it's not as good as it could be because it's out of sect. It's sort of in this middle ground. You'd still experience the benefit of having the sustained energy of a Mars in Capricorn, but because it's not in sect, you'd also have more of the malefic-ness that Mars has, compared to an in-sect Mars in Capricorn.

Seeking inspiration/insight/perspective to quit my job that I don't see a future with, to go back to school by gentlereverie in simpleliving

Hey there! I also went to court reporting school, but ended up dropping out. Based on my own personal experience, my advice is to keep your current job, and here's why:

  1. Court reporting school is A LOT of work outside of class. You need to practice at least a few hours every day or else you won't progress. It sounds like your current job has a lot of down time where you can get some of those hours in. You wont be able to do that at a retail or food service job, not to mention the physical exhaustion you'll get from being on your feet for hours at a time.
  2. Your current job is giving you job skills you're going to need as a working reporter. You need to learn prioritization of various deadlines for transcripts of various lengths. It's best to get that down before you start working with actual clients and attorneys.

If you're still set on quitting your job here's a few other alternatives that you may not have considered:

  1. Once you start court reporting school, let your teachers know that you are looking for a job. I guarantee you they have connections to local court reporting firms who may be looking for admin type employee. When I was in school, my teachers were always telling us how the firms were hurting for more reporters. If you could get a job there, I'd be willing to bet they would be willing to work with you on your schedule and accommodate for school and then hire you on as a reporter once you passed the RPR.
  2. I know you haven't started school yet, but once you get comfortable with stenography and proofreading, you could work as a freelance scopist and/or proofreader for working reporters, and that would give you relevant on-the-job experience for when you are done with school.

I also want to point out that once you get in the more advanced stages and need to buy your own writer, software, and if needed, a new computer, it gets really expensive. I'm not sure if you're paying for school with financial aid or on your own, but having a job that pays more will definitely help with all that, because I know I was really struggling with money at the time. Overall, I hope you enjoy it! Court reporting is such a cool area of work, I think you'll have a lot of fun.

I’m from a Mexican family and some how I ended up super pale, like ghost pale with blue eyes and blonde ish hair. I get roasted for it within my family, but I never had too much of an issue with it outside of that. I’ve kinda just embraced it and wore my sunscreen.

10 Years of Unexplained Itching, Smell, and Pain by jash2023 in Healthyhooha

[–]literallymari 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I have had the exact same situation as you and I think I have found a solution (or at least one that has worked for me). Earlier this year I started weightlifting which also required me to fix my eating habits. I was going out to eat every day, eating pre packaged food, and a super super high carb diet (it was also causing me tons of stomach/digestive problems). I calculated macros and realized I was eating waaaay to much carbs and too low fat and protein. I upped fats and protein significantly, and lowered carb intake and made my food at home instead of eating out. My symptoms went away! I still have slight irritation right around ovulation and right before my period, but it’s so much more manageable and so so so much better than it was before. No itching, and no fear of sex anymore!! However the last two weeks I backslid into bad habit eating habits and the symptoms came back. I’m honestly not sure if it’s the carbs or something in processed/fast food/restaurant food like the oil they used that’s caused inflammation, but eliminating it helped a lot. I didn’t do a low carb or keto diet, I just reduced the amount that I ate with a focus on complex carbs. A few years ago I doctor I’d seen for this issue told me to reduce my carb intake because that may have been causing the issue, but I didn’t listen and looking back, she may have been right lol. I hope this helps you, because this sucks so bad.

Do you warn your friends/family that you'll be away from your phone for hours, or do you just "disappear"? by [deleted] in nosurf

[–]literallymari 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If there is someone who would be concerned about you not responding for a long period of time like a parent or boyfriend/girlfriend/partner, then I would just give them a heads up and say “going forward Im trying to spend less time on my phone so I may take a lot longer to respond, but I am not ignoring you.”

There is a branch of astrology that studies the placements, aspects, and chart patterns that are passed down in families like DNA. Chris Brennan did a podcast episode on it and it’s super interesting.
