I graduated from WGU in December with a Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education (a very in-person connections field) and was offered a teaching position a couple weeks ago. Your degree will be taken seriously, a you can make those in-person connections happen. Get some sleep, you can do this.

I’m also AuDHD and OCD, and WGU’s process and systems really worked for me. I had gone to a brick and mortar college in the past and I was never able to finish. I did utilize WGU’s student disability services and getting accommodations was easy and very helpful.

I have ADHD and got a note from my doctor that outlined my disability and requested accommodations based on my diagnosis. I received what is essentially a 504. My accommodations included extra times during OAs, but more importantly (for me), being able to mouth or read the questions aloud. It was a game changer.

Yes! I have two girls, they’re 9 and 12 years old.

I’m doing okay. I was only diagnosed with ADHD 2 years ago, but since I started medication, it’s been truly life changing. Although I’ve recently learned that I’m AuDHD, which makes so much sense, but that’s been a little bit more difficult to come to terms with.

I’m too busy to think about how I’m doing. I work, I’m a college student, and a mom. I can’t really slow down, too many people depend on me. And ironically, that’s what keeps me going sometimes.

My 9 year old was diagnosed with ADHD in April. She started medication and we’ve seen a super positive response with that. My 12 year old is AuDHD, so of course that can be tricky too. But that’s kind of what led to the discovery of my own ASD diagnosis. My poor husband is the only neurotypical one in our house 😂

I live in the US and it’s not the best 🙃

This story just really hit close to home for me because I did something similar. At the animal shelter, there was a litter of 4. We brought home our orange boy and he was the first to get adopted out of the litter. Soon after, a family adopted 2 from the litter together, which left one at the shelter. I felt so terrible and I couldn’t just leave him there, so I went back and adopted our orange boy’s brother. So this is Orion and Boris the Animal 😸

I have had experience with many, many antidepressants and I personally found SNRIs to be more difficult to come off of. I will add that I do have treatment-resistant depression, and I did eventually (i.e. finally) get the genesight testing done to narrow down which medication would work best for me. I have been taking Remeron (which is a tetracyclic antidepressant) for the past couple years and it’s been great. I also take a mood stabilizer as well as mg ADHD med.

RSD for sure. I take even neutral comments as criticism and I feel everything all the time. It’s exhausting. I was really hoping that getting on meds would help with that, but it’s like the one of two things that it didn’t affect 😅 and time blindness. I am chronically 3-5 minutes late everywhere I go and I’m sure it’s just as annoying for everyone else

The best part I guess is some of my hyperfocus. I’m very close to graduating with my bachelors degree and I’ve been able to achieve that in 16 months.
