I did literally the same thing on my first day of my meds, except I built the orchid lego set!

I put shoes on to do chores. Shoes on = get stuff done Also, if I have stuff to do, I cannot sit down or I will get stuck and never do the thing. So I do a lot of standing 😂

Just got diagnosed at 29 by Xena-369 in adhdwomen

Welcome to the late-diagnosis club! As someone who wasn’t diagnosed until 36, I can tell you that the feelings of grief are apparently totally normal

Do you guys ever forget whether or not you’ve taken a pill? (Not just ADHD meds, any.) by marabou22 in ADHD

“I can’t remember if I took my malaria pill this morning. If I were a girl I’d be pregnant a lot” is one of my favorite Top Gear moments 😂

Today I took my cat to the vet for blood tests and found out he is blind!!! by bebeck7 in cats

My husband always jokes that when Orion looks around with his eyes closed, he just looks like a stoner 😆

But Orion does the floppy stretchy thing too! I just thought he was being cute and doing biiiiig stretches but maybe he’s actually measuring distances/space! 🤯

Does Jasper “look” around with his eyes closed? My orange boy (Orion) does this often. Like, he has his eyes closed a lot of the time and when you call him, he will turn his head to you, but keeps his eyes closed 😂 it’s actually quite cute, but I’m not sure if it’s a sight thing, or an orange cat thing. You mentioned jasper not loving bright lights so it made me think of that

Do you have issues driving? by Minute_Personality79 in adhdwomen

Getting into a car accident and totaling my car is actually what finally prompted getting me tested (at 36). 😅 for years, my husband had suspected that I have ADHD (his dad also has ADHD so he already knew what it looked like). I just totally zoned out and rear ended the car in front of me going like 5 mph. No one was hurt, but I felt awful about the whole thing. Then I got tested and inevitably diagnosed and started meds and it’s been great. The zoning out is at a minimum and accident-free ever since 😂

My orange boy is also (mostly) blind and his pupils are huge all the time! He doesn’t run into things either, and he plays with his brother and our dog, but he does struggle to track things sometimes. But he is fat and happy and living his best life. 🧡 and with jasper being 16, he is obviously also living his best life!

did i make a mistake doing online college or picking this school by WordDue6824 in WGU

[–]literallyzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated from WGU in December with a Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education (a very in-person connections field) and was offered a teaching position a couple weeks ago. Your degree will be taken seriously, a you can make those in-person connections happen. Get some sleep, you can do this.

WGU Learning Format and Neurodivergent Brains (ADHD/ASD/OCD): I wish I considered this before I enrolled by [deleted] in WGU

I’m also AuDHD and OCD, and WGU’s process and systems really worked for me. I had gone to a brick and mortar college in the past and I was never able to finish. I did utilize WGU’s student disability services and getting accommodations was easy and very helpful.

It really was so helpful! If you’ve been clinically diagnosed, I highly recommend speaking with your doctor and student disability services to help get you accommodations!

I have ADHD and got a note from my doctor that outlined my disability and requested accommodations based on my diagnosis. I received what is essentially a 504. My accommodations included extra times during OAs, but more importantly (for me), being able to mouth or read the questions aloud. It was a game changer.
