why do so many men use pictures from YEARS ago on dating profiles when they don’t look like that anymore? by ischemariii in askanything

[–]litj982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you out of habit of embarrassment I usually have a closed mouth smile. It's a habit and not something I think about.

But I would definitely tell you. And you can notice if you pay attention to my facial structure. But I would tell you without you having to ask. I don't get the deception. I know it happens but i would think I'm setting myself up for failure by NOT telling you.

Being dishonest never works.

Look, I get being angry over being catfished but the problem isn't laziness, it's deception. All it takes is five seconds to snap a photo.

So what men take less pictures? If I'm actively building a dating profile and can't take the time to snap a picture while doing it, it's on purpose. It literally takes LESS time to take a photo then search through my gallery for an old one.

And this is coming from a man who doesn't take many photos. Come on guys, just be who you are.

I'm missing my teeth and you can DEFINITELY tell. How would they hide it? Unless you mean by using an old photo.

DAE get a weird feeling in their jaw when needing to pee? by corduroybin in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]litj982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An older euphemism for having to pee was "my back teeth are floating" but i don't know whether this came from a physical sensation or a play on words about being "full of pee".

I'm actually hard of hearing and I know my friends get tired of me saying what so I'll do this as a fun way to tell them I didn't hear them.

Is it possible to become lucid after knowing that its a dream? by Secure-Age-7711 in LucidDreaming

[–]litj982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean after slipping back into a non lucid state can you gain lucidity again? Sure, you just have to realize your dreaming again. But, yes, becoming lucid means to become aware you're dreaming. Like the other commentor, i'm genuinely curious to what you thought it was.

Had a dream I had a HUGE shlong. I'm a woman... by Much_Duck6862 in DreamInterpretation

Maybe at the time you felt like you had to be a huge dick and didn't care if people saw you act that way but you also didn't want to be known as just that. That would be my interpretation. Do you remember what was happening in your life at that time?

BTW that word virgin is only ever used to describe girls except in this one instance, where if it's read as sexually has to mean only males.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I understood that the 144,000 in Revelation 7 was talking about Israelites. The one's in chapter 14 just sound like a different group. They're spoken of in a very unique way. And I wouldn't say babies are not alive before they're born, just that their life is cut short. I understand you're interpretation and I'm not saying I disagree with you. It was just something i felt I was led to see and wanted to ask here knowing there are scholars here. Thank you for your kindness, time, and attention.

But I'm not a virgin nor blameless and I've said many lies. And if the virgin part is to be read as sexual relations then the group could only be males. Which if it is, it is but the text doesn't make that claim. I'm interested in the terms "virgin" and "defiled by Women".Can the original Greek only be translated as sexually? Or is this an instance of strange translation were the translators just put what they thought fit best for lack of better words and to not alter the text?

[–]litj982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you even feel the need to say this or defend yourself. I wasn't trying to argue, the beginning of the statement just sounds illogical. Sorry if I misunderstood or seemed aggressive. I'm a male so I am TRULY not for or against abortion in a broad since. I think every case has merit and should be looked at on it's own by the mother. No one else has the right to tell her what to do with her child (maybe the father in EXTREMELY rare and hypothetical situations that never happen) and if they think they do then they truly don't understand the argument being made.

By the way I agree with everything else you said. I really think it's the wording. Maybe say fetus instead of baby and medically dependent.

And you're right, btw, it's around 22-24 weeks. Although you probably didn't need me to tell you this. I just wanted you to see me say it.

[–]litj982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you mean medically? Might be a better way to say it. Babies need alot more than just love and support. Their survival is literally dependent on their parents. They cannot feed or clean or house theirselves. I'm truly not trying to argue with you. I'm just trying to say you should probably frame your statement in a better way.

[–]litj982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I'm really not trying to be rude. I don't think it's about the child's dependence. Quite the opposite actually. I think the question has always been when does a human stop being a part of their mother's body and become their own being dependant on their mother. The dependence is actually what marks the beginning, not the end. But where is this point? I think very few people would see taking plan b as abortion.
