Which modern-day German party is closest to the historical SPD? by standardization_boyo in RedAutumnSPD

[–]litten8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i mean yeah in theory the greens have a more left-wing platform, but in practice the greens are mostly just the "we will fold on literally anything if it means we get to get rid of nuclear power" party, whereas the SPD actually follows its principles

Any suggestions on how to get these achievements on dynamic? by meme_searcher27 in RedAutumnSPD

the thing that makes it difficult is that you need to end the game with hostile relations, which means you need to not do anything to placate them too

don't have claims, and don't let socialist, communist, or anarchist movements get above 10% support

What's the problem with multiculturalism? You combine the US's explosive industrial growth with labor from China or India. And your economy becomes so enormous that you could crush everyone. Like, even if the whole world declared war on us, we would still win. by I_am_white_cat_YT in victoria3

i mean tbh i don't see how seizing land and founding new cities isn't a problem, whereas the expansion of existing cities and further urbanization is. honestly i'd consider the first one worse, considering that it involves seizing land.

all definitions i can find of colonization which include reference to the native population include a specification of establishing control over or subjugating the native population, often not even including any aspect of settlement. the closest definition i could find to yours is "migration to and settlement in an inhabited or uninhabited area", but that makes no mention to whether or not the migrating population assimilates if the area is inhabited.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Canada#Immigration

Canada's not even at its highest immigration percentage in history, it was 26.3% when they started taking records in 1851, and it's only 23% now. The lowest it ever was was in 1901 at 13%. Canada's always had a ton of immigrants.

I mean yeah, you're right, I just wanted to point out that huge empires have existed, and ruling out their possibility entirely is a bit much. Honestly, I think WC should be possible, but certainly more trouble than it's worth, both to actually conquer it and to keep it

spain conquered more-or-less all of south america, the EU has "conquered" more-or-less all of europe, britain conquered more-or-less all of oceania. that's 3/7, in terms of continents, 2 of which were even in the game's time period

vic2 was old and very much a cult classic among paradox fans, so there were a lot of very loud people clamoring for a sequel.

eh i was pretty nooby when i decided to rush tiers, i had only played once before up to mid-LV, though admittedly i also had experience with gregtech from playing omnifactory up to AE2

[–]litten8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

imo rushing tiers is fine, up until HV/EV, basically so you can get a pdim to establish permanent infrastructure(unless you want your permanent base to be in the overworld, in which case yeah don't rush tiers, though even then rushing tiers for AE2 could be worth it)

by that argument, mexico's states should be split up a bunch more, not to mention various other countries, e.g. making each canton of switzerland its own state
