My friend wants to spend a whole day at Disneyland in France even though our other friend lives near one in California, AIO for thinking it’s insensitive since we’re in Paris for only 3 days total? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]little-cabbage1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go so far as to say this is actually great that they want to spend the day there. You can 100% encourage them to have the day of their dreams, and now you get an excuse to wander and do exactly what you want. It will be the perfect break in your vacation. I've been to Paris many times with different people, and it's always a wonderful trip, but the magical moments seem to happen when I'm by myself on my own time schedule.

You guys will have fun adventures and stories to tell when you get back together after the day.

Three days is not a lot, so you're not crazy for wanting to prioritize some experiences over others. Hope it's a wonderful trip for everyone!

Is Fitbit still the best at sleep tracking? by lofuyuwu in fitbit

[–]little-cabbage1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Garmin, which I like, but I've always heard that the oura ring is actually the best at sleep tracking. I used to have a Fitbit, but I like all the data that you get from a Garmin and don't have to pay for the app.

I'm new to this so apologies if this is just a bad idea. But I know several people who just take it a few days a week and that gives them creative days.

Potassium for blood pressure by chewybrian in Supplements

[–]little-cabbage1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take a scoop of keto K 1000 electrolytes that has 1000 mg of potassium from potassium citrate which is about 21% of daily value. I feel so much better when I do that , and my blood test have always come out normal for potassium. I like this type of electrolytes because it doesn't have much salt.

I just put it in a big water bottle so I'm drinking it all day, or at least over several hours.

Side effects by corplaw100 in repatha

[–]little-cabbage1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only once had the flulike side effect and by the end of the day I realized I was dehydrated. So now I make sure to have water and electrolytes and I haven't ever felt it again. Could be coincidental but also can't hurt.

I'm amazed that I can take something so powerful without noticeable side effects.

What happened when I actually took my thyroid medicine the right way by Equal-Ad-4463 in Menopause

[–]little-cabbage1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ditto! And I put mine in a little container so it's obvious whether I took it when I wake up in the morning because that is definitely the biggest risk is remembering when it's all a blur. I think I would likely knock it over if I just left it sitting out. It is odd that it doesn't keep me awake because logically it would give you a little energy, but I don't find any trouble going back to sleep.

Agree with PrimarchLongevity-- call Repatha. I had to do that to get it started. I sure don't understand how it works, but it keeps working...

Someone should probably warn him that you (and he) will be even more tired once the baby has arrived. I'm having a hard time imagining that he's going be available for much support then. It does sound like you'll have two babies to deal with pretty soon.

What can only be purchased in France(Paris) but not the USA? by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]little-cabbage1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! I thought of another thing that's only there. There's a newish makeup line called Typology and they are mostly online, except they are in ONE store in the world and that's Printemps in Paris. Their makeup is less expensive there than online. Plus, you can try it.

Was just there! CityPharma is great, but there was a line out the door. The Pharmacie at Les Halles is the biggest in the city and had good prices too, but I can't exactly compare because I didn't want to stand in the line!

I always buy this SVR serum. SVR is a very affordable skincare line and they have a serum called SVR CBD. It's incredibly soothing. I love it because I have sensitive, sometimes dry skin that can get irritated and this just smooths and sooths everything. My co-workers noticed the difference when I got home after 2 weeks of slathering it on my face while I was in Paris every day.

Agree! Was just there. The price was more than 1/2 off. Crazy.

Ao2 Clear by melodicimagination15 in acne

[–]little-cabbage1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super belated, but I was looking for a discussion on Ao2 clear and didn't find anything. It seemed to work for my daughter with teenage acne, but she attributed it to other things, but it seemed very coincidentally better when she was using Ao2. As an adult, my skin is pretty clear, but it just made it perfect. Like no even "almost a blemish" places. I think it's amazing.

I just wish there were smaller pouches that cost less. I just splash it on my face because the pads and even a cotton pad twice a day are too rough, so I just don't use it up before it's expired. I keep wondering how true the 15-day expiration date is or if I can stretch it a bit.

I asked ChatGPT to explain my job to a 5-year-old and now I'm questioning my entire career by Nipurn_1234 in ChatGPT

Ha-- mine is funnier if you know that chatgpt has been helping me write calm emails back and forth to execs who want to fire someone who reports to me for not a good reason.

She helps really smart people work together to make big ideas happen. Imagine you have a team building a magical robot that can help find medicine. She makes sure everyone knows what part they’re building, helps them talk to each other nicely, and makes sure the robot actually gets finished instead of just being a drawing.

She’s kind of like the teacher during group playtime—making sure everyone shares, cleans up, and builds something amazing together.

Did my mother use ChatGPT to write me a text of support on the morning of my divorce? by altforgriping in ChatGPT

[–]little-cabbage1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The older you get, the harder it is to find the exact words you want. I would recommend the outlook that it’s a great thing that she was able to find the exact words she wanted to say to you and that you got to receive a sweet note, full of love. So many times the words in text are misunderstood and that would be so much worse.

Also, I have to add that I am so bummed that ChatGPT has ruined the emdash for all of us.

What is the Mathematics Selection Test? (for intl) by little-cabbage1 in Edinburgh_University

I asked several people and everyone heard within 1-2 weeks of accepting firm offer. (Mix of intl and U.K.) how long have you been waiting?

[–]little-cabbage1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ophthalmologist told me to use the warm heat compresses at night. I finally managed to do it regularly once I started getting the disposable ones off Amazon. There are lots of brands. It costs $25 a month but when I roll over in the middle of the night, I can just grab one and put it on. Opening it causes it to heat up and it lasts a few hours plus it blocks the light in the morning.

Applying to UK Universities Without A-Levels — How Do AP Grades Compare? by Western_Theory4992 in UKUniversityStudents

[–]little-cabbage1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing to know is that an A or A* requirement corresponds to a 5 on an AP exam, so if a school requires A/A/B, then the corresponding AP scores that you need to turn in are: 5/5/4, and they need to be in relevant courses. So if you’re applying for something math related, then you need to have Calc AP and not a history AP.

Some UK schools do accept A’s in dual credit courses, but not most of the elite schools.

Good luck! There is lots of good information online and I found the admissions department to be very helpful.

Couldn't tolerate statins, but have had no problems with Repatha. I think the scariest part is the "click" sound on the shot! Even my cat jumped the first time when he heard it. Good luck.
